I subscribed to your channel. I've been looking for a good quince video for some time. I have to re-watch this as I was cooking dinner. It's not been a good day for me, so this clip actually helped brighten things up. After all tomorrow gotta be a better day as it's my big day to have some birthday fun and I get to spend it with my local bonsai group.

That's so kind of you to say, I'm glad my little quince brought you joy, it certainly brings me a great deal of joy too! Happy birthday!! I hope it's an amazing day (but since you're going to be spending it with bonsai peeps, I'm sure it will be!)

What a lovely looking quince and thanks for explaining why there seems to be a few more people doing these early repots. It is always interesting to see what works in different climates. I loved the pace of the video and seem to have found another channel to watch :)

Isn't she a cutie? I love this one. Now with the early repot, please take with a grain of salt cause I've never tried this one, I'm just taking what I learned from the Winnipeg club but they've been doing it for a few years. Apparently each species has a different requirement for their dormancy period, I wasn't able to find specific info for the quince so I'm just trying it out at this point. We'll see how it goes though.

Beautiful tree. Beautiful video. I missed the last component of your mix...pine bark, pumice and .....?

Thank you! The last component is Chabasai, it was recommended to me by a local private bonsai retailer. Here's a link to some info about it. en.serreslavoie.com/products/chabasai

Hi Hope to see more good stuff on your channel. In your soil mix, what is chebasai??
@basicallybonsai2532

Thanks so much! Chabasai is a highly porous substrate, it can store up to 40% of its weight in water and release it slowly afterwards. It does not disintegrate, so it can remain intact for several years in a growing pot. Contains potassium, magnesium, calcium and iron. It maintains the culture medium at a neutral pH thanks to its buffering effect. It is also commonly called Zeolite

Please turn off the music. It drowns out your voice. Can’t hear you.

Agree, the music is too distracting when speaking. Would suit the video better if music is off when she’s talking. Enjoyed the quince video 👍
