500g small fish, cleaned and gutted
2 medium onions, chopped

2 green chilies, slit
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
1 teaspoon coriander powder
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon red chili powder
Salt to taste
2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Fresh cilantro leaves, chopped (for garnish)
Directions:
Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Fry until they start to splutter.
Add onions, ginger, and garlic, and sauté until onions turn translucent.
Add tomatoes and green chilies, and cook until tomatoes are soft and mushy.
Add the remaining turmeric powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well and cook for a minute.
Add the small fish to the gravy and mix well.
Add 2-3 cups of water and bring it to a boil.
Cover the pan and let it cook for 10-15 minutes on low heat or until the fish is fully cooked and tender.
