Hi There, Great review ! I'm having trouble charging the monitor battery ... do you charge the battery itself or the monitor directly ? If so how ? Thanks,

Hi, we charge the battery separately using a charger that we got with the kit (and now with a 3'rd party charger).

Lensvid thanks so much for replying! Roughly how long does it take to charge ? And then what is the average run time for the monitor

First, you need to understand that this monitor accepts standard Sony NP-F batteries - you can buy it as a kit and then it comes with one but you can get those batteries almost anywhere (Amazon/eBay and most regular camera stores got them). The one in the kit that we got last I think quite a few hours but it depends on your usage - how bright you set the monitor to - are you shooting something brighter/darker are you powering the camera from the monitor battery (this will drain the battery very quickly). You can also buy a special AC adaptor as well (we just ordered one) and it will allow you to run this 24/7.

Can you put it on an slr camera?

Sure - you just need to make sure you have the right connection and cable - every camera has a different type of HDMI (full/micro etc.).

when I Connect my A6300 with the FOCUS it shows NO HDMI SIGNAL , what to do for that to work on my camera ? Is there any particular settings to dial in ?

That is very strange. The menus on the A6500 are a bit different but I would try and play with the HDMI settings on the camera and see if this help in any way.

The only other thing I can suggest is that you try a different camera to see that this isn't a monitor or cable issue. If you don't have a second camera try a friend or even go to a camera store and ask if you can test it.

If you're connecting the cable, then turning the camera on first followed by the monitor, or turning the monitor on first, then the camera, try reversing the order.
