Ya, nice again. I watch your stuff over and over and my stuff is looking a little nicer. Probably going to pickup a larger-whip finish tool like the one your using. The standard size one is sized more for the fly fishing guys. I knew this was something new from you because I didn’t recognize the blue t shirt. Thanks again, you are my mentor for bass jigs. KT

Thank you for all your support, it means a lot!!! The more jigs you tie the better they get but remember, they don't need to be perfect, some of my mistakes were awesome fish catchers. I used the small 4" whip finish tool for a long time and after using the 6" for the first time I knew I should have got it years ago, so yeah, don't hesitate, grab that 6" whip finisher.

WHat an awesome jig! I was wondering if you ever do a multi colored marabou jig in this manner? That would be epic.

Thank you, I appreciate the comment!!! I've done a lot of multicolor marabou jigs just like this. In fact if you want a multicolor marabou jig in which you want countershading (dark color on top with a light color on bottom) you have to tie it this way.

What’s your opinion on the different methods of tying marabou, I’ve seen people start from the back of the shank under the hook tip and work their way up to the collar. I’ve seen you tie it again on the back of the shank and wrap up towards the collar, then I’ve seen you stack it on the collar like this video? Any advantages to each?

Tony, each method has an advantage different from the other. When you wrap or palmer the feather you get a little more action and a fuller look with less material. When you stack the feather the hook shank is free to add a trailer and it also allows you to do a different color front and back. Great lakes anglers like the hair stacked with a long hook so they can thread a small piece of Senko on the hook shank. This allows them to keep the head size small while adding some weight for longer casts. I prefer to palmer the feather, it has more of that flare when you stop it and it pulses when on a steady retrieve. Both ways are effective so you just have to see which works better for your waters. I hope this helps, thanks for asking!!

Thank you for the kind words, I appreciate it!!! I get my marabou from Barlow's Tackle, specifically the Hareline strung marabou blood quill. The flash is olive pearl that I also get from Barlow's Tackle, it is called Flashabou Accent dyed pearl, the number is 089 olive. www.barlowstackle.com/Flashabou-Accent-Dyed-Pearl--P2194.aspx .
