Yes, this was a pretty good depiction of super-speed. Almost the same way as Quicksilver from "X-Men: Days of Future Past", but toned down to a TV budget.

I respect your opinion, but I completely disagree. Ever since Tom Welling started producing Smallville in season 8, you can see how many corners they cut to save money and how few of his powers he used. It’s the reason he only really ever uses his super speed and strength. They cost very little to edit into the show. Having these freeze frames and zooming in and out is much cheaper than recording it all in slow motion.

Funfact: The reason this scene is shot like this (with still images) is because it is supposed to look like "real life" comic book stills. The reason being; Smallville is based on Superman, and Superman, despite appearing on TV and in movies, is really a comic book character. The more you know *shooting star*.

fact (or trivia): Jimmy's name is revealed to be Henry James Olsen, not James Bartholomew Olsen, like it is in the comics (in Smallville). Ashmore would later play James Bartholomew in the last portion of the finale, which takes place in 2018. It is believed Smallville is probably Earth-2 from the DC Universe and it is unknown if Jimmy was dead or alive in the Earth-2 universe that appeared in the final season.

Comic book explanation: Clark's power are a form of telekinesis which allows him to ignore G forces and physics when it doesn't suit him. Same reason he can hold a plane up by the nose without it crumbling. The real question is: How does the Hulk hold up a mountain without getting pushed into the ground? He has all the strength needed, but no physics altering powers to allow him the correct foot placement.
@mar2506
2 жыл бұрын
no because as his aura protects his clothes , his telekinesis ability protects people . flash can also carry people with lightspeed. normally, 15-20g is already lethal for humans. but even smallville superman is way faster than light.

Of all the superhero shows on CW, I think Smallville was and still is the most normal and for the most part the best. The rest of the shows either merge from the start in guano, or in the course of filming, starting from the second season. Arrow could have been a good show, but faded into feces by the end of the first season.

Season 9 and 10 didn’t feel like Smallville to me. Chloe’s eyes no longer had that same sparkle ✨ as compared to earlier seasons. Jimmy’s death and the whole Davis situation really did her in and I don’t think was ever the same after that. This is my opinion. What drives me crazy is that Clark and Chloe both had amazing moments throughout the series and at times I saw from Clark’s vantage point that he felt something romantic for Chloe. I wasn’t a fan of her getting with Oliver. I know that for Clark his soulmate was always going to be Lois Lane and no one else. The Superman fandom wouldn’t have it any other way. Had the writers of this show gone a different route I don’t know how the fans would have responded. I’m all for sticking with the classics and not messing with the original couples but I always wondered what it would have been like if just once the writers not go along with the same old script. Even Tom said at a convention years ago when the show was still on the air that Chloe’s character became very important to Clark especially and their bond is probably the most unique in the show. He also said that Gough and Millar as well as Brian Peters and Kelly Souders who later became the show runners for 8-10 were leaving the door open for Clark and Chloe to have a romantic relationship. There are way too many moments where it might suggest something more than friendship. I love Lois I truly do so I hope what I’m about to say won’t piss off any Smallville fans but here it goes: Lois’s arrival in season 4 brought everyone out of their comfort zone. From the Kents, to Lana, Chloe, etc. She was a breath of fresh air from all the damn Clana drama in seasons 1-3. Although I liked Lana in some ways Clark always felt this need to envelop her in his arms. There’s nothing wrong with that but Lois is the complete antithesis of Lana. Lois is strong and independent and (sorry Lana) doesn’t pester Clark to “open up.” Part of that I believe comes from the fact that Lois was around men all the time. Her dad was a General and raised her to think like a man. She had traveled the world with her dad and grew up in army bunkers so she was well acquainted with men and their minds and how they think and act. Lana had no parents, and her father whom she found in season 2 would have been nice but that didn’t end well. Lois got on Clark’s nerves in earlier seasons but there was a ton of attraction there. Even Lana said it. Lois is a great lady for sure. However I wasn’t a fan of how her character was written in seasons 9 and 10. She was a rebound for Lana. She took off I believe after her and Clark kissed in season 9 I believe. Then from my viewpoint she started turning into Lana with those long pining gazes. Lois was less sarcastic and like I said more piny. I didn’t see the passion in Clark’s eyes in seasons 9 and 10 like I had in earlier seasons. Maybe it’s because he finally embraced his Kryptonian heritage? I don’t know just my opinion. Chloe sacrificed more for Clark than Lois and Lana combined. Chloe saved him more than the other 2. She never gave up on him. I don’t think Clark realized just how much of an ally she was to him. Chloe wasn’t just a perky, blonde sidekick. She was his guardian angel as much as he was hers. Lying to Lana, Lois, Jimmy, and Lex was never easy but Chloe did it. Lois’s vows to Clark although heartfelt and loving pale in comparison to Chloe’s letter to Clark when she was but 15. “I may not be the one you love today but I will let you go for now hoping one day you will fly back to me. Because I think you’re worth the wait.” So pure and heartfelt. Mature sentiments from a teenager. Sounded very grown up to me. Chloe might have married Jimmy. My philosophy on love is thus. You can love many people but your heart can only belong to 1. Chloe loved Jimmy. Chloe loved Oliver. They don’t have her heart. Her heart belongs to Clark. Always and forever. As for Clark. Clark loved Lois because it’s what was destined. Destiny is something you can’t change. Just because something is destined doesn’t mean it’s what’s best IMO. Clark’s first “love” was Lana but something always kept them apart and I believe she will forever hold a special place in his heart. Clark’s feelings for Chloe I believe are more than just friendship. If Lois wasn’t in the picture at all. And no Lana. Clark would finally be able to drop the friend wall and allow himself to have those romantic feelings for Chloe. Some might disagree with my sentiments and that’s okay. Smallville was amazing 1-8. 9 and 10 seemed a bit strange to me. I can’t watch Smallville after season 8. I have but 9 and 10 don’t do it for me. The series finale however was amazing and the “Homecoming,” episode was good but that particular episode brought back too many Lana memories. PS Clark was so super hot 🥵 in that black trench coat!! My favorite! I kinda miss the classic American 🇺🇸 red/blue color combo with the blue jeans and hiking boots 🥾 but this black ensemble is sexy as hell! Tom can make anything look hot 🥵 can’t he? lol 😂 Stunning! Just stunning 🤩

I would count leaving her when her ex-husband died and cousin went missing - like what Clark said, she thought maybe she hadn't lose everyone. It was cruel. Regarding the PZ issue, Superman sent Doomsday to the PZ in JLU but Batman thinks it is wrong; when there is still the human side of him it is just not on Superman's usual level of morality I guess. Don't ask why Oliver could kill Lex and get away with it. Superman (alternate universe) from JL sure didn't.

It was in his head. You could always fly. Also, him not being able to fly it also a metaphor of the weight of his burden he placed upon himself. Thus grounding him. There is at least one scene of him floating when he was was Lois, when he allowed himself to relax for a moment.

Clark couldn't fly bc of mental block. jer el said it was in his head while he was training in the beginning of s9. I like the idea of it being metaphor for weight on his shoulders.
