I really missed Rosenbaum on the show. His acting made the first seasons.

@wtcvidman Yeah exactly man. I loved the finale so much. Even the fact that we didn't see Tom Welling in the actual suit, and only a CGI Superman didn't really deter me from my love of Smallville and this episode. It's what they did to Lex. Clark and Lex's friendship from the earlier seasons was the best thing about the show, and then how that fell apart was a huge factor in why Lex became who he is. They always made it his environment that made him evil, now he doesn't remember it.

@ryanell666 I would have been upset/annoyed coming back after being pestered so much only to have your entire character completely negated by the end of the episode. Lex had his entire memory erased, so nothing that occurred in the show, none of the traumas of his youth matter anymore. Those are the things that shaped him into the villain he was, and they wiped those away.

@MGOSnakeLiquid Well the 'mind wipe thing' isn't that much surprising to me coz in every movie or show of Superman.....they've always plotted it as Lex not knowing who Clark really is and STILL, eventually be the GREATEST VILLAIN on the THE MAN OF STEEL 's LIFE......the concept of Smallville just deepens the REASONS WHY Lex is Lex....it's WHO he REALY WAS and WILL BECOME with or without his MEMORIES!

Will there be any way that you can make the 1-minute video "Smallville Series Finale Behind-the-Scenes somewhere that we can view/download it? Such as on Twitvid or Dailymotion or Mediafire, since Comcast is blocking it from broadcast in the USA by youtube. And thanks to you, and the guy at CWTelevision, for posting all of the great videos about the Series Finale. I still wish we knew some more about the plot. Or that we could be assured that we will see Tom wearing the SUIT, etc.

@MGOSnakeLiquid I thought the finale was tolerable until the memory wipe. I thought they wasted way too much time with the wedding & it never even happened (something I said didn't need to be seen on this show anyway). I would liked to have seen much more of Lex rather than all that time waste. Also, like I predicted, Darkseid was another flop of a villain given how badly & easily he was beaten after a whole season of buildup. But I was able to overlook all those flaws until the Lex mindwipe.

@MGOSnakeLiquid That to me is the biggest reason why the finale was an utter failure. They took my favorite live action version of Lex (though I disliked many things they did with him earlier regarding Lana) and ruined him completely. They negated his entire purpose on the series. What an insult to the character, the actor, and most of all the fans.

@@keegannicholas8053 If it was like the comics, I'd agree. But in that scene he said that he & Clark would push each other to be great men, so if he killed Clark, he would lose the person who would keep him sharp & make him great. So for that reason, I think he would refrain from doing that. Especially as more threats like Darkseid & Doomsday pop up (or return in the case of SV's universe), which would keep Lex viewing Clark as a "necessary evil" & keep viewing himself as the one who is necessary to keep Clark in check. I think ending the series with a scene that depicted that dynamic in SV's universe would've been perfect. Especially if they showed Lex blaming Clark & his entire species of Kryptonians for the destruction of their home world & as a result the meteor shower (where the fragments of their home world made it to Earth) that had been so detrimental to his life and those of Smallville's citizens with all the meteor freaks it created & all the people those freaks terrorized. Having such a scene end with Lex promising Clark he won't let anyone else suffer what Clark's kind did to him (Lex) would've been an awesome way to set it up with Lex in his mind thinking that everything he does going forward will be in the best interests of humanity. So he would keep Clark alive not only to keep himself sharp but also so that Clark could "clean up his species' mess" in Lex's mind by handling superpowered threats.

@@wtcvidman i only disagreed with the Lana plot because villian/non villian couples dont mix. Now in the Lexmas episode, in his dream, it worked because he wasnt a villian and had a great reputation of the Kents. Now of course that contradicts his comic book version and he's a great villian in real life don't get me wrong, but since Michael R is my favorite version of Lex, I prefer for him to have only been a temporary villain. Its ok if you disagree but I feel the way I feel. I loved him and Clark's friendship. But I agree his memory being erased was dumb, even though another KZitem comment said its that way in the comics
@wtcvidman

@@lessismore8533 Thanks, I completely respect that. In the comics he never knew Clark's secret. I think there was a one-shot storyline where he did due to them being friends much like in Smallville, but that was outside of the normal continuity and DC Universe/Multiverse. So Lex knowing and then having his mind erased is very different than him never knowing Clark's secret. Same with the similar argument people made in forums justifying Jimmy Olsen's death because Jimmy was supposed to be a lot younger than Clark & not supposed to know the secret, yet they didn't kill off Lucy Lane, who was his girlfriend in the comics & about the same age, for that same reason. And those same people had no problem with Lana ending up having superpowers when we last saw her in season 8. You could tell it was a copout explanation that the producers gave because they fully intended for Aaron's original seasons 6-8 Jimmy being *the* Jimmy Olsen of Smallville with the way they had Aaron Ashmore's Jimmy in the Season 7 DVD special feature comparing him to live action Jimmy Olsens of the past. The only reason they killed him off was due to not having money in the season 9 budget for Jimmy & everything else they had planned. Surely they didn't plan on bringing a fake Jimmy from season 6 and keeping him around that long for us to get attached to, only to kill off later. Unlike Jimmy, other iconic characters who they at first made us believe were the SV versions of them but ended up not being the case were only seen in 1 episode and then never appeared again, such as the fake Kara that Jor-El used to lure Clark to him in Covenant and the Cat Grant seen in that one season 9 episode (Crossfire I think?). But Jimmy was around for 2 seasons before they axed him for budgetary reasons. I loved Aaron's chemistry with Tom & Erica, so it really bothered me that they killed him off. Going back to Lex---since Smallville made it a big thing that the 2 were friends, taking that away so that Lex doesn't even remember who Clark Kent is, let alone his secret, was just destructive to such a main theme & draw of the series, since many fans of the comics tuned in to see how they would go from friends to enemies & how Lex would go bad in Smallville (me being one of them). So in the end it felt like thanks for nothing for all the investment in that aspect of the series (the main aspect that drew me in other than Clark getting his powers & learning where he came from and using those powers for the greater good).

@MGOSnakeLiquid I posted all sorts of ideas at Kryptonsite about bringing Morgan Edge back so he could break Bruno Mannheim out of prison & form Intergang as its leader with Bruno as the heir to the throne and explaining Lex to be the one behind the VRA & behind the murder of Jor-El's clone. And I posted another idea of bringing the evil Brainiac back to merge the Zods & explaining that Brainiac was the voice of the orb & was Alia the Kandorian (which is why she had powers under both suns).
