Underappreciated version of Zod with Callum Blue bringing the intensity and calmness that makes the character work and his arc in Smallville is one of the better villain origins they had

My all time favourite portrayal of Zod and loved the way Smallville addressed Zod as a young major and how he became the villainous general that we all love to hate. Callum Blue did a tremendous job playing one of Superman's most iconic villains and he was definitely up there with Michael Rosenbaum's Lex Luthor in terms of main bad guys

I actually felt really bad for Zod in the scene where Jor El wouldn’t give him his son back. I mean I could understand the scientific reason why he would be hesitant but when he tried to take the moral stance as the real reason I could understand why Zod would feel resentment toward him from then on. If only Zod’s blood was taken during the battle of Kandor his younger clone might have actually had a chance at redemption but the last thing he remembered when unlocked from the orb was his best friend’s refusal to help him

One of the best scenes of Season 9 , i literally Adore how Callum Blue has interpreted it. Zod was definitely my favourite villain together with Lex. His character is very interesting because it reminds me a lot of Emperor Commodo from Gladiator movie. Same sadness, rage and loneliness, same jealousy (towards Jor-El, towards Kal-El as long as Commodo was jealous of Marco Aurelio and Maximus) and same Amazing job with his eyes and body language. This is my favourite scene

Still my favourite as well Season 9 of Smallville is one I remember the most from the show that had the right amount of character drama and superhero spectacle which is something seasons 8 and 10 do well but 9 did it the best. Salvation is one my favourite endings to a season of tv

This version of Zod can't really recover his powers since he never had any. He's a clone of the original with blue kryptonite put into each clone of the kandorians that was inside of the orb

soldier2009 yes i know Clark’s literally few drops of blood voided out the blue kryptonite in Zods bloodstream. This isn’t the real Zod, he’s a clone of the original as part of a project to re-create krypton if it was ever destroyed. Jor-El purposely put blue kryptonite in the kandorians because they knew under a yellow sun they get superpowers and would take over a world and destroy the people on a planet with a yellow sun

@@adamtajyar damn I had no insight on that I didn’t think Jor-el put blue Kryptonite in the Orb guess I should have paid attention a little more but your right This is a Past version of Zod along with others in that orb that’s why Jor-el from the Orb didn’t know who Clark was cause he hadn’t had a kid yet when he was making the orb

I don't like that Clark gives Zod and his army powers so easily, it feels like it makes him directly responsible for doing something that could so easily have dramatic and disastrous effects for humanity. I think Emil Hamilton should run a computer analysis of whether Clark's blood could give the Kandorians powers, out of curiosity, after Clark and Chloe ask. Emil says the results show, they'll have Clark's abilities temporarily with a few mere drops of blood, for around five hours, but then the blue kryptonite in their blood will override Clark's DNA. In terms of them being able to keep Clark's abilities, there's only a 14% chance that the abilities can be kept - so it's generally impossible, but there's still a tiny, miniscule chance the powers could be kept. Clark will supervise Zod for the five hours he has powers, to ensure he doesn't do anything criminal, subtly but firmly telling him that if he does, he'll face human justice immediately when he has no powers. Due to not receiving nearly as much sunlight as him, Clark knows Zod is definitely not powerful enough to overpower him for the five hour duration, and after this time, Zod's body would've digested the bullet inside himself. Quite a bit more blood can provide a Kandorian with Clark's powers permanently, and this is something Clark will not reveal to Zod and co. . Zod will guess that quite a bit more blood will give some Kandorians powers by testing this theory out, as he does not trust Clark after his towers' destruction. Note: In addition to the small 14% chance, it should also be established that Clark doesn't intend to transfer blood to any of the Kandorians in the case of an emergency, as it's too big a risk that they could discover how to get their powers and consequently, become a threat.

Smallville isn't a prequel to the Christopher Reeve films. It is its own thing that retells the origins of Superman in its own unique way
