This was the video I was missing after watching at least 10 other fiberglass repair videos. I had more than a crack when something crashed through my T-top on a classic Corvette during a winter storm. I didn’t know whether or not to just make a hole and repair with a clean hole or salvage what I could and patch it together and go from there. Now I know I’m going to try the latter with a board back in the repair. So glad you guys took the time to do this video.

This is totally awesome. I'm studying videos like yours so I can repair the fiberglass bodywork on my crashed road racing motorcycle. This is gonna save me a few hundred bucks, prevent usable stuff from ending up in a land fill, and teach me some useful skills all in one project... love it!

Would have like to seen you grind level / smooth out the fibreglass in the cracks and the application on your final finishing (assume fairing compound). Before primer and paint. Thank you

A good fiberglass reinforced filler works great for an application like this, but gel coat could also be used.

The area that you used cardboard, did you remove cardboard before patching inside?

You really have to grind the hell out of. At least the back or it will just crack again. Taking anything loose out too. Really dig in aggressively.
