This song is the definition of pure rock and roll. Incredible

Some of the best drumming and fills I've ever heard in rock music between 3:07 and 3:30.

Brian Snyder Jimmies a animal. They couldn't pull off jams like this without him. He just continually plays harder and harder. His sound is killer to . Easily one of my favorite drummers.

Probably the most distilled and perfected form of rock-orgasm there is. It's like Thor descending from Asgard and relentlessly hammering your skull in with a mjölnir.

These big unreleased ass kickers of his really need their own studio album. Beginning with an extended Gossamer in order to set the right expectations, and including this, and Dream Machine. I know it's not gonna happen tho. I got the same perpetual songwriting bug myself, I know what it's like to just keep wanting to move on to the next thing.

Looks like the reunion tour wasn't a success, Billy's back to doing deep cuts & prog/jazz-fusion stuff again. This is on the summer set list. I like him better in this mode.

if you were going to attach this song to an album “era,” would it be the _Zeitgeist_ era or the _Teargarden_ era?

Based on the personnel, Zeitgeist.

All residencies shows (such as this one) are firmly in the Zeitgeist era

@@mlit51- yea… I don’t know what I was thinking. here’s what I want for Christmas, if you were wondering: 1. _Machina + Machina II_ remaster 2. _Zeitgeist_ remastered and expanded with the extras… this song, _American Gothic,_ ‘Gossamer,’ and all the acoustic stuff like ‘99 Floors.’ 3. _Teargarden by Kaleidyscope_ remastered, or at least compiled into a single release… but I think _Oceania_ and _Monuments_ are fine as standalones 🤷🏻♂️

@@Sam_T2000 Nice. I agree with 1 and 2, but I can absolutely live without 3. There's a few gems from that era but I don't find myself returning back to those songs very often at all

@@mlit51 - nah dude, _Teargarden_ is great! I think it’s one of the most interesting and unique eras of Pumpkin’s music, like their prog rock period… arguably the best post-reunion “album” 🤙 the YT channel ‘Leni’ has the whole collection of songs uploaded as one video, as well as a bunch of live stuff, if you want to give it a listen.

I listen to Atum and I’m like…WHY isn’t something like this on it?! Where’s Jimmy’s drumming?! Where’s the energy? So sad.
