The San Joaquin Council of Governments (SJCOG) is using a $7.4 million grant from the California Air Resources Board to create Stockton Mobility Collective, a group of programs that provide residents access to nonprofit electric carshare and bikeshare programs for trips to schools, grocery stores, workplaces, doctor’s appointments and more, while also reducing vehicle emissions and improving air quality. It includes developing an e-workforce development program to train local workers to maintain the e-bikes and electric cars, expanding the Vamos Mobility app to plan and pay for transit trips, and providing incentives for shared mobility services. SJCOG’s partners in this include the San Joaquin Regional Transit District, Institute for Local Government, Míocar, Mobility Development Group, Sigala Inc, Third City Coalition, and UC Davis Institute of Transportation Studies.
SJCOG formed several working groups to help in carrying out the Stockton Mobility Collective. This is meeting No. 1 of the Community Engagement Working Group.
