Today we're finally getting the motion of the X axis on the surface grinder smoothed out. The springiness of the mechanism has been wreaking havoc with the Clearpath servo control algorithm, but it turns out they make an enhanced version of the motor with a feature called Regressive Auto Spline smoothing that makes a world of difference.
