I love this video. The snail's diet consisted almost entirely of leaves up to this point, but all of a sudden everything changed when it found a mysterious droplet that snails weren't even meant to taste in the first place! The snail went wild because of ingesting a substance that it previously didn't even know. It was something entirely new for the snail. An experience beyond its snail senses. However, milk is rich in calcium. Even though snails are not mammals, they might actually benefit from drinking small quantities of milk in such a way that the calcium hardens their shell. So the snail improved its stability by trying something new! Moral of the story: Don't be afraid of trying new things in your life.

Idk what exactly kind of milk it is, but if it's just regular milk, it probably likes the calcium!! I had pet snails for a while, they need to have calcium to help them grow and harden their shells!! you don't give em straight up powdered calcium, I gave mine cuttlebones (exactly the same kind you'd buy for a pet bird) and they eat that up!! the average garden snail actually has around 14,000 microscopic teeth in little rows. they're VERY interesting little creatures and I love to see snail videos get attention.

Oh, and interestingly enough, they have personalities. A little limited but some of mine are more curious than others and love to try to explore while others are really food driven. The explorers will not stop for food, the food driven ones will stop looking as soon as you put something in front of them. And it's always the same snails so it's not like they're sometimes hungry and sometimes not. Some are scared of being picked up and will retreat into their houses immediately while others are rather curious. Some love to take a "shower" under running water while others don't want that - they all love to bathe, though, and they enjoy being spritzed/misted with water. Mine are giant African land snails (we can keep them over here because even if any got free they wouldn't survive the winters - but I'm responsible and don't let any eggs go unfrozen so they can't hatch outside).

Im happy for it. This was a positive momment in the snail's life, its time here on Earth, and I am grateful to whoever gave it milk in the first place.

I like how the snail snipped it, and then turned away, raised up, threw its ee stalks around, and then just went face first into it. While it's projecting human emotions on a primitive to say a basically mindless animal could experience joy, I nonetheless got EXACTLY what I was promised. I didn't know snails were even capable of exhibiting behavior that isn't relaxed and chilled out, but here we see one clearly reacting to stimulus with vigor. It is remarkably cute and insanely wholesome. It made me happy to see it. I hope you repeat this action and tale it again! You are a good master and your snails look great!

@@prettyrat. That's the joke. The "play" is the video, and Sheila is the snail. He is saying that I am recounting the "character growth" of Sheila and analyzing the play like a book club nerd.
