I have the DC ipurifier, AC ipurifier, USB ipurifier 3 and I've been using them with my Hegel H360 integrated AMP, Graham Slee Accession C phono stage, and the AC ipurifier with my $500 power strip for about, give and take 6-9 months. I really don't think they work as they are advertised. I've tried it with my Chord Qutest or other DACs with the USB ipurifier 3 and disappointingly, they or none of them work like others have mentioned in forums or reviews. They are affordable and gets people to try them and resell them on the used market. They are flooded in the used market, so they are easily bought and sold with minimal burden as a buyer. Maybe that's their goal. Selling at a volume at an affordable price. For my phono stage, Graham Slee Accession C, I'm already using the Enigma PSU external power supply and compared it to the cheap PSU I was given by the dealer when I purchased the Accession C, it did get rid of the humming noise [ the noise was unbearable ] and decided to buy the DC ipurifier to see if it will improve the background noise as you'd raise the volume to 11-12 o'clock, and NOTHING. After hours of A/B test NOTHING improved! So, I decided to try the DC ipurifier with the stock crappy Chinese PSU that I was given with purchase of the Accession C and it was the same. Humming noise as it was used with or without the DC ipurifier. My conclusion with the DC ipurifier is that, I think it is more important to use a quality external PSU for your phono stage or a DAC, like the Chord Qutest or with a whichever DAC. The USB ipurifier, OMG, complete S/O. most current DAC is fitted with USB galvanic isolation, so the USB ipurifier would be useless as I have tried with many DAC standalone and with integrated amps with a dedicated DAC fitted in the system. Complete S/O! Now, the AC ipurifier. Where do I start. If you live in an industrialized country with a very old, out-of-date power grids running your city or multiple apartment complexes and with quite often power outages, plus dozens of radio signals , then it might be useful or should at least try. Then again if you live in a place where power outages are probably non-existence because you may live in a developing country where all their power grids are recent with current state of the art infrastructures in placed, since it may be of a city recently developed then in all cases, why would you need a AC ipurifier? ifi purifiers didn't work for me. I have used them for about 6-9 months and for me and this very, very subjective hobby, it was a waste of time and money. But maybe, not for you.

I know due to compression, you don't get the full effect on KZitem, but I closed my eyes at the end of the video to see which I'd prefer. I got to the end of the video and didn't even realise it was switching between the two - so in other words, no difference. Now there may be a case where this makes a difference. I have a USB DAC and for some strange reason I was getting noise when using it on my laptop. How can this be? USB is digital right? Well I went optical and that cured it. I later found that I didn't have said noise when the laptop was on battery. After a bit of reading online, I figured it was a ground loop. Sure enough if I used a 2 pin laptop supply (double insulated/no earth) it fixed it. Optical worked because there is no electrical connection between the two devices I don't know the construction of this device but it might be isolating against ground loops

I put on headphones (albeit inexpensive ones), and from my laptop audio outlet, couldn't hear very much of a difference. The problem is that the song playing is not a very good one for referencing in this way. Also, the clips were too short. By the time my brain got locked-in, you performed the A/B switch. Also the music was constantly changing, and it was not a long-enough test in-total. KZitem's sound quality is also an offender toward accurate listening tests, but it is occasionally useful to some degree. I bought the iFi iPurifier S/PDIF version of this device (yes, I know it works differently), and am at this very moment, burning it in with non-stop input. Within the next day or so I'll give it a critical listening test. I have it connected to a Google Chromecast Audio device. Info for the iFi iPurifier S/PIDIF from iFi: The SPDIF iPurifier has REclock/REgenerate technology to ensure you hear audio in its natural form, and Galvanic Isolation to stop noise contaminating the signal. Accompanying the SPDIF iPurifier is our very own iPower 5v plug, which being super-quiet, lowers the noisefloor to the max.

There is a difference. It really depends on your playback environment. To my ears, the space is hollow sounding without the iFi. You can really hear (and feel) the space fill in when the iFi kicks in. It may not sound impressive at first because our ears are used to the type of distortion the iFi eliminates. Give it some listening time (even through KZitem 's poor codec's and algo's) you'll learn to appreciate the smoothness and space the iFi provides. Hope this helps!

@@jfilbert rumble noise at -65 dBFS isn't anything a human would hear as being a "huge difference" or "I really hear a new kind of clearity in the high frequencies" or any other bias confirmation respons I read here in the comments. If you put different dithering per recording and simply the random behaviour of analog circuitry in play it explains what gets left over after nulling. There is more noise then audible music left, which means the music itself does not benefit from this sub purifier. And being at -65 dBFS, possibly claiming that this noise is removed is the big change is just nonsense, since the song itself is blasting pretty loud with 0 dBFS peaks. You will not hear the difference of the removal of a -65dB noisefloor. Still people claiming this device makes a audible difference. This is standard "hifi" snakeoil.

This was only with tracks and master cranked and headphones 2x normal gain. While I didn't notice a significant difference between tracks AB-ing in my DAW (on babyface pro and Sennheiser HD650s) I can quite believe it makes a difference in a pro studio. For all of you saying this is BS. What you have to understand here is that this device does not affect the quality of sound, but the purity of power supply to the usb device, which in turn reduces noise and distortion produced by the device, that causes cleaner output. It's similar to the hi-end mains power supply purifiers, except this one can do the same to usb powered devices. If your interface uses an external power supply and does not consume any usb power, then you will not hear any difference.

I know the ears are the ultimate test, but do you think reclocking itself contributes to the wideness/verb tails/frequency extension/sharper transients? I wonder if there is any harm in extra clocking. Sometimes I feel as if the hi-finess is a hair superimposed. Just initial impressions on my Prism Lyra 2. I'd say I mostly love it, but sometimes feel like it is coloring in a Hi-Fi way. Almost like another round trip through another AD (mastering grade at that) rather than maintaing the original signal's integrity. Food for thought. You bite? Thanks for doing these reviews!

There should be no difference in audio in a digital recording. Isn’t this for eliminating noise artifacts that sometimes can pass through usb audio like coil whine and electrical hum? And if they’re using phase cancellation as you described in the intro then that’s...well, horrible (mainly because a digital signal literally will not record the electrical hiss you might or might not have). That seems like the worst way to eliminate electrical noise lmfao No way you’re gonna tell a difference if you record the source directly from digital You literally have to mic headphones in an environment that had electrical noise before to actually pass peer review when testing this device Now, I’m no advocate for snake oil, but at least understand the intent for the device and not demonstrate it in a way where it wouldn’t make a difference whatsoever (digital recording) Isn’t this essentially just a shielding device and an isolator for a USB port?

FYI it is snake oil and I will tell you why. It is USB!!! It is digital!!! It take a digital file from one place to another through an error-checking standard "usb". There is nothing to clean up or purify, because we are talking about 1's and 0's, not a frequency like analog. If it does change the sound, it would be some kind of digital amp or equaliser, but that doesn't "purify" the sound, it changes it.

Hi. I have 2 questions: 1. Has anyone used this for *recording*? That's where I get unbearable noise. And it's not "just muddy". It's very specifically audible noise, but I've tracked it down to my mains power, because it's still there with everything unplugged. I can get rid of the 50 Hz hum, but there is much higher noise in there, probably due to other people using the power for other things. 2. Why is there a blinking red X over the product at the end of the vid if it's ridiculously good and they're not getting it back? Was that intentional?
