Yes, wish we had more veterans like you. I’m 33 years old, decided to switch careers about 3 years ago. Went to a community tech school. Graduated and went to work at a T.A.. From there went to a different shop hoping to get into more advanced things. Didn’t work out. The two mechanics that were there gave me shit for going to school. Always giving me shit for everything I did and how I was taught. Almost made me regret switching careers, fortunately was able to get out. I know my goal is to learn as much as I can. So maybe one day I can open up a shop, and have a apprenticeship program to get young kids or guys are wanting to switch careers. And not get shit for being green in the industry and actually be taught. Thanks to channels like this one is how I learn, I also read a lot.

I dunno if anyone knows but Makita just came out with there new 12v electric ratchet (Makita WR100DZ). It has the same power as the Snap-on one but it spins at nearly 3 times the speed (800RPM) and you can remove the head and change it to a 3/8 or 1/4. When I have got the money I will most likely be buying one. Ow and I think comes with a three year warranty too.

I have 2 of those cat strap filter wrenches and they’re leaps and bounds better than the other styles simply cause they don’t twist when you’re really yanking on them. I just wish they were more durable. Either the snap rings blow off and go flying or what happened to me last week, the socket snapped in 2. I’m very curious on the part number for that starter 5/8 extension though. I use a 15” Mac wobble extension and a shallow 5/8 using the old heave ho method on the isx
