Oh, I just love him! He's got such an incredible soul. You can feel his sincerity and earnestness with respect to his offer to help struggling designers. I've enjoyed his work in your magazine for years. Oddly, this is the first time I've heard him on video. I'm sure he's done plenty of them, per his comments, but what a treat! Genuinely nice human!

Lynda Reeves...just a pointer...please listen to responses in total and let the interview flow in a more natural rhythm. You are crowding your guest unnecessarily and uncomfortably. You are a beautiful lady to watch with much to say but your guests, I assure you, will not run away mid conversation.

Linda doesn't read the comments because we've asked her, since the first episode, to stop interrupting the guests. It is very annoying, but more so, very rude. It is a really good series but the constant interrupting is ruining it for me.

Tommy is great but the video is called a sneak peek into his home which it really wasn't. The hallway could have been shown and discussed but it was difficult to film a windowless hallway with a laptop, whereas a room would have more available light. I hope we can see some of Tommy's home in the future.

I so appreciate and value this piece. Love Sarah and Timmy 4 YEARS. But what I don't live is how often the host cuts Tommy off every chance she gets as if though 2 say her questions r more important than his responses Extremely disappointing. And not 2 mention just plain rude.

Oh Tommy, I am so glad I chanced across this posting as I’ve not seen you in so long! Yes, indeed, you so deserve/need to have your very own enterprise! It is long over due in fact. Of course, we fans adore you two (Sarah and you) as colleges in design and presentations, but it was observed early on the qualities, intellect, talent and vivacity which your presence brought to the scene. Please, please do more postings particularly at this stage of plague (Covid, say no more, say no more) as we shut-ins desperately need a blip of light, a dash of really good taste and your inevitable shinning wit to brighten our endless days. Did she take a class on how to interrupt and be annoying? She could definitely teach one. I have always loved this magazine. I had no idea she would be so discourteous and overbearing. Was the interview supposed to be about Lynda or Tommy? Go paint a frame and be still.

I think that Linda is confused about who is being interviewed. I understand that some people being interviewed may need prompting to help draw them out. This gentleman is not one of those people and he is very engaged. Her participation in this interaction bordered on cringe worthy. Sadly this is not the first time I have seen her poor interview skills in this medium. I hope she changes her approach as I think the subject matter is interesting.

It's been 3 years since that interview. I have watched Tommy Smythe. & Sarah Richardson in reruns of all they did together since 2020 . Working so well together with talent & some odd taste but works well who & how the clients are well pleased. He looks so great at 50 at that time. Can't believe it very good looking talented & works hard love his humor to. Had no idea He went solo thought he & Sarah were still together as working partners. Toronto i am familiar with it as that was my vacation spot is a awesome city when Design Inc was filmed there. Everything & the best to you Thomas Smythe. Great interview at a time of this terrible widespread of Covid 19 your shows kept my company at home very well. ❤

This has been such a great series. It really feels like a chat among friends. Serious talent(much of it Canadian). Have been a fan of LR and H&H for years. The "treat the hallway as a room" comment was spot on. A great hallway leads to a great room.

I loved your interview with Tommy. I loved that guy. I happened on design, inc one day, and I have been binge watching it. He said on one episode that a lot of people may think he's a snob. No snob but a great guy who knows his business.

It is more accurately called salon style, because of the upper class practice of slowly adding works to a salon, or living room, and then inviting over the A-list to point out the latest acquisition. Sort of like a hunting lodge collection of captures. Definitely not Marie Kondo LOL
