Thanks for making this video, it's gotten me even more interested in trying this entry out. I hope MR4 gets the same treatment that 1/2DX got and that it gets ported to PC/Switch, or something.

I admit I learned a fair few tidbits from this video. Such as Training Gadgets slowing down the rate of bonding. That's something I didn't know despite playing this game for years. Also, you can get Medals from certain adventures in chests, though they are very rare and tend to be found in places like Prominence Ruins and such. Overall, this is my favorite MR game and easily the best in the series. I only have two complaints with the game: the Bullish/Timid mechanic, which seems to replace the Foolery mechanic, and Final Guts, which can often make or break a battle, especially since the opponent can get it multiple times while you, the player, rarely get it. I've had many battles get jeopardized by those two mechanics, especially Final Guts, which can be very costly and very unfair. But, aside from those two mechanics, the game is great and lots of fun to play. I even made an entire Word document with all the CDs/DVDs/games that I own and what monsters they produce so I can reference it if I want a certain breed. It's still incomplete, as there are some breeds that I didn't have access to when I tried them, but it's about 90% done otherwise. Anyway, great video, Snek.

I get it! The bullish/timid thing I think is supposed to be a personality thing? But the problem is, unlike foolery it doesn't seem to go away with loyalty, which can be very frustrating. But thankfully, the game has the chance of getting discs from adventures, to help with your encyclopedia!

@@TheHipsterSnek Yeah, though it is annoying. Of the two, Final Guts is what gets my goat the most, since it can easily turn a battle on its head. It really should have a penalty cost for activating, like costing all of the monster's Guts so it's not so unbalanced. Other then that I can easily sink hours (and in-game years) into the game, as it's just that enjoyable. I love all the customization options, as it feels you can get more personal with the monsters and really see their growth first-hand. Heck, I've been playing a new file pretty much all of today. Also, quick question: what species do you personally recommend for a tank in this game? I mean as in Golem, Baku, etc. I'm always looking for new ideas to make each playthrough different. The closest I've probably used as a tank would be a Dragon, as, after all, who doesn't want a pet dragon. But what species do you personally like for a tank build? Thanks and great stuff. Looking forward to you next video. EDIT: I should mention what my current team is if it'll help: Garu, Helm Hound, and Pixie. While these three species are my staples for MR4 (Garu, Tiger, Pixie), this is the first time I've raised a Helm Hound and purebred Pixie in this game. Hope this helps and thanks.

@@silverbladeslash5151 I like your idea about Final Guts - and I agree. Nothing quite as frustrating as winning and then your enemy going "LOL NOPE!" when your monsters rarely get to do the same in kind. All sorts of good tanks are out there. I admit I have a fondness for Madillo, as they're a one-off species, exclusive to 4, far as I recall, and I think they're cooler than most people do. Fun fact, I got a rare one of these from my DVD of the first live-action Ninja Turtles film from 1990, so that's also cool. Dragons can be good tanks, just know Dragons kind of excel at... everything? Just be consistent in their training and you'll have a good monster, for sure. Beaclon is also pretty cool, as I'm a fan of insect motifs. Golems are more versatile than people give them credit for. Raising a Baku was kind of a first, for the sake of this video, at least for me but I found him a rewarding, if a bit derpy, experience. Another one a lot of people may not think of is Antlan - another one I feel is kind of under-rated. The Antlan Rangers, which you can unlock from the MR4 disc itself, are cool and the Red Ranger has a naturally very high accuracy trait and growth, so he's easy to raise. Also Antlans and Garus have high compatibility when fusion time comes calling. Hope this short list helps!

Correct! Sadly, I really have no choice nowadays. I no longer own a PS2, so it's that or nothing.
