😎 1). The Cult's song "The Phoenix" is a great driving song, although that whole album(Love) was recorded poorly, as if the studio producers and technicians hated low and mid range sound/frequency. As a result, it literally sounds like they recorded it with the bass graphic equalizer knobs turned down to -0-, the mid range at -2-, and the high frequency knobs cranked up to the maximum 10! 😏2). Robert Plant's song "Big Log" is a great laid back cruising song, and would be great for desert driving, despite having the dumbest name ever! 😁

@@4coolclips 👍😃👌No problem. Actually, there are a few very good songs on The Cult's "Love" album(their 2nd album), including the title song(Love) and "The Phoenix" and a couple/few others. As a group, they changed their musical style DRAMATICALLY from what you hear on "Love", to their next album "Electric". They had success with Love, so they hired famous producer Rick Rubin(creator of Def Jam Records), who influenced The Cult to change their sound from the post-punk, gothic rock of "Love", to a more traditional hard rock sound, reminiscent of early AC/DC. Actually, "Electric" has some good songs too, its just different. The Cult released their next album, "Sonic Temple", which was a shift from the traditional hard rock sound of Electric, to a mainstream heavy metal sound. Its got some good songs too. It was their most "radio/MTV-friendly" album, although they produced videos from their previous albums that were played on MTV. 👉 Lastly, they released a song called "Painted On My Heart" in 2000, that became the theme song for the movie "Gone in 60 Seconds" with Angelina Jolie and Nicholas Cage. Its a great song too!⬇️ kzitem.info/news/bejne/qWmM22F7nouikqw

@@HighlanderNorth1 I relate so much to your love of music! I miss vinyl bcuz of all the photos, lyrics and info that came on the covers and sleeves. They enriched the whole experience! You weren't kidding about Phoenix Lol! That one is a speeding ticket in the making 🙃😁. I love those kinds for driving..... Motley Crux's "Looks that kill" affects me that way.....have to really keep an eye out on the MPH 😄. Echo and the Bunnymen's " Lips like Sugar", Jesus Jones's "Welcome Back Victoria", and Animotion's "Obsession" all build to high speed vibes too (you probably already know all these!) The Robert Plant one was always one of my favorites, but I didn't know the name....so was a great surprise to rediscover. I see what you mean about it, although I envision a great slow dance or tango under the moonlight ...in the middle of the desert, on that one! ☺️. Thanks so much for the other suggestions, I don't know a whole lot about the Cult but have always Loved Edie, and Sanctuary (another great driving one)......so I can't wait to listen! “Driver’s Seat” by Sniff’n the Tears was released when I was 21 years-old and I fell in love with the song. I’m 65 years-old now, still love it more than ever, consider it one of my all-time favorite songs and still listen to it regularly. Contains my all-time favorite lyric, “Jenny was sweet” and another lyric that always brings a tear to my eye, “I remember my time with you”. This song is interwoven with the fibers of my life. Thanks for posting :^)

My favorite song of that year in which I also graduated from high school. After all these years it takes me back to that wonderful era when youth seemed endless and the nights held mystery and excitement. It is hard not to be nostalgic for one's youth. I am thankful that I grew up in a time of such great music and in an era without a raging war and the opportunities afforded to Americans at that time. Thanks Sniff n the Tears for making life even better for all of us during that time.

No, it doesn't sound just as fresh. Not even close. This is my first time hearing this song (06-07-2021) and without knowing anything about it I could have easily told you that this song was definitely recorded in the 70's. That's not to say it's bad in any way, shape, or form. Songs and music SHOULD capture the 'sound's and 'feel' of the era in which they were created. A song in which no one could feel the 50's, or hear the 60's, etc. would just be missing that certain something that makes music magical.

Their 2nd album was released with a new lineup but sadly contained no hits. Anyway I've had Fickle Heart in my collection for many decades now.
