I had a big BreakFromLifeThrough today. Up until very recently, I potted about the same with my chin nowhere near the cue (or in fact just standing up straight). I noticed it was different a week or two ago when I got RIGHT down with the cue as low as possible. Big difference!

I’ve been practicing backspin and screw shots last night and I admit that I elevate left hand and dig down with my right hand aiming at below center indeed. Where most of the time I miscue and sometimes get lucky to screw right back to me when I play it. With that in mind, I thank you for sharing this video tips on how to aim and execute the screw shot correctly! 💖 Greetings from Busan, South Korea 🇰🇷

For me, the relaxed arm bit is the most important. We always say: Let the cue do the work. At the time of impact, you want it to feel as though your cue impacts the white without your right hand (as a right-hander, let's say grip-hand) interfering in any way with the impact. It's almost like loosening your grip to the extent that the cue *just* does not fall to the table, but not any more. I once heard that your grip-hand should feel like you are holding a little bird - don't squeeze it in any way, just very delicately wrap your hand around the tail of your cue to enable acceleration but keep it very flexible and loose. This makes the impact much more effective. On impact, the cue will be deflected (because it can, thanks to the light grip) and does indeed "hold on to the white".

this video came at just the right time i changed a cue tip yesterday for the first time -with surprisingly good results - from an old flat cue tip, and I went about trying to play the one thing i couldn't with a flat tip, which is the screw shot. "can't touch the cloth before it strikes the ball, or else it'll chip" it makes perfect sense thanks for pointing it out cheers from Florianópolis, Brazil.

Hey, about backspin, I have noticed some players adjusting their stroke such that the cue tip does not travel in a straight line relative to the cue's major axis (down, into the table), but will tend the tip to follow a path more parallel to the table - presumably by slight drop of the elbow. Why? (create some lift to avoid friction on the cloth slowing the ball and backspin, or to maintain longer tip contact?) - observed when slowing down so-mo replay moments of matches. I do find that difficulty of doing screw back shots does depend on what table you’re playing on. On fast tables, It can be easy. On slow tables, It can be hard. Every table is always different.

Hi Quint and fellow snooker players. If you are reading this, I need help with my screw shots. I have been playing snooker for around 9 years now and i consider myself to be pretty good. But i have always struggled and am still struggling with screw shots. Firstly I aim very low on the cue ball, as compared to most of the players. My coach said it's not a bad thing but I am not so sure it's not. Secondly I frequently miss cue the screw shots, if I insert power many a times the ball will jump right of the cushion. I have tried practicing aiming a little higher but I think it's too late to change my natural game so it just doesn't work. I subconsciously still hit lower than what I want to aim for. I also thought it could be because of the chalk i have been using but I can guarantee it's neither the chalk nor the cue because I have experimented with everything. I am not sure what should I practice to just stop jumping the cue ball. I am always scared I will rip the cloth someday. If any of you have any suggestions as to try something to fix this, i would be in your debt forever. Thank you

And remember all cues are different and play differently. When I go to my local pool hall sometimes the cues I normally try to play are gone, the tip of your cue makes a big difference. The tip should be curved close to or about the degree of a nickel, if the tip of your cue it more flat then you will miss cue on shots like these. Be careful stay safe everyone.

I'm suspecting you're a troll or you haven't been on the Internet until this year. All you have to do is look at the channel information and realize that HENDRY is actually starting a channel to be similar to these successful snooker based creators. Sorry to tell you, break from Life, Barton Snooker and Barry Stark have been around since before hendry's "comeback"
