I don't think Pharrell or Chad can ever deny the synergy and memories their collaborations created musically for the world. Those two were an era of music. Even though Pharrell spread his wings eventually and became a cultural icon himself, together they were amazing

What people don’t understand is that is around this time Chad wasn’t included when it came to production. I do think he was apart of this particular beat but this is when Pharrell started makin beats solo , cause he was always the face and the voice of the Neptunes, and Chad started fallin back on production to be with his family

true, The Neptunes never really sampled, i think they take the philosophy of "inspiration channeled through effort" meaning they believe to put their thoughts together on something previously planned as if they were there. I think that's genuine about P & Chad. That's the way I'm inspired as a musician.

@@haroldhollemanii3309 they didn’t really sample…the INTERPOLATED songs but even this song in particular, the movement is much different from Steve Arrington & Slave’s Watching You. Sampling is taking from the original recording, interpolation is taking inspiration from a record. Which we all do.

The Neptunes rearranged the song, but credited Slave, the same way any artist does when covering a song. @Teriyaki32186 It's a combination of both. Pharrell and Snoop's singing is based off of Slave's "Watching You", but the instrumental is based off of Brazilian Rhyme. But there is no sample. Pharrell (or Chad) replayed the music himself.

@LoveTheMusicPlease the Neptunes have been to use a Korg Triton a lot as well as a microkorg so you might find them in there, good luck. The neptunes also use live guitar a lot but I think its mostly acoustic so its probably in one of the above workstations
