Super cool video. I bought hose a little nicer then the jacuzzi hose at Home Depot. It is only the next step up as far as pool hose. All white w nylon string to help it from bending flat. It seems to get all the way up front so much nicer then everybody’s pvc snorkels. Hahaha I’m going to run my vent lines tomorrow and finish keeping my air box dry. Funny I just ran across your video tonight. ✌️

What did you use to secure the pipe on top of the plastics to keep it from moving around

I first used pvc adapters to join the top pipe to the bottom hose under the plastic. After a few test runs I was getting a lot of wobble where the pvc pipe was coming through the plastic. What I did was used a metal hole saw and cut out 2 pieces of 1/16 metal, so I had a doughnut looking metal disks. I put 1 on top of the plastic and 1 underneath the plastic and bolted them together and then screwed little brackets from the metal disk into the pvc pipe on top of the plastic. It took away the wobble even at moderate speed riding railroads. Hope it helps you.

I got a few on Facebook I'll try and figure out how to download them and put them on. I've had water up to my gas tank and tires and exhaust totally under water and she did fine, airbox stayed dry as a bone
The above Facebook link is to a video that my brother took of me testing out the snorkel I made. I apologize for it being in slow motion his camera settings was switched, but you can see that I had my girl under the water pretty good and everything worked great and stayed dry as the desert

What about dialectic grease and did you have to adjust or jet the carb
@shannondalton7746

@@jonathonkelly2115 Nope didn't need to use dielectric grease and the hose I used was the same diameter as original snorkel intake, so it ran perfectly and didn't need to jet or adjust carb. I've had in the water to where you couldn't see the tires and exhaust was totally under water and everything was still bone dry in the airbox

How did you get the pool hose to connect to the pipe coming out of the top of the plastic
@shannondalton7746

I used a pvc adapter piece that was 2 1/2 inches on one end with threads on the inside and on the opposite end it reduced down to I think 1 3/4 inches. I had to sand the 1 3/4 end down to fit into the 1 1/2 inch pool hose, once I got it to fit tightly into the pool hose, I used silicone around that end so that it wouldn't come apart or leak water there. The other end ( 2 1/2 inch with inside threads) comes out of my plastics and I got a threaded 2 1/2 inch straight piece of pvc, screwed it into adapter and cut it down to clear handlebars when turning. Now I can unscrew the top part of the snorkel if I want to. Hope that helps. I'll try and make another video of the setup and post it here
