But how many snow boots are there? How to choose them?
When it comes to snowy environments, winter hiking shoes become something fundamental not only for health and safety but also for comfort.
So the choice of snow boots becomes fundamental and juggling the high number of models available is always very complicated.

Personally I cannot boast a great experience in snowy environments so I preferred to turn to experts to shed light on my doubts which could also be yours.
This need led me to have a long chat with the guys from the Campo Base Outdoor Equipment store, from which the idea of shooting this video was born.

We have identified three different types of settings so that each of you can choose according to your needs.
The first setting deals with mixed routes, with some snow-covered sections or with little snow and maybe even quite compact on the path.
On this type of routes it will be enough to have a reliable shoe, with a good grip, on which to mount the crampons in case of ice and which have a discrete heat retaining capacity. Obviously all the shoes we're going to talk about today are mid or high and waterproof.
The second setting takes us to environments with fresh snow, in which we will probably be forced to immerse the entire shoe in the snow, to use snowshoes and gaiters. In this case the need to retain heat becomes primary and we will have to opt for more structured shoes, with a stiffer sole than the previous ones.
The last setting is the most extreme, that is when we are in winter alpine environments, at high altitude, routes that perhaps involve climbing on icy walls. Here the warmth of our shoes becomes a vital factor, our boots must have crampon bindings and also the structure of the sole itself will give us greater stability at the expense of agility.
.
For each route we offer you some models of the highest quality and performance. find all the links at the top of the description.
