Snowgoons is a hip hop production team from Germany, consisting of founding members Det (D. Keller) and DJ Illegal (M. Ruckert), as well as Sicknature (J. Andersen), DJ Crypt aka Thommy Tornado and J.S. Kuster.
The Snowgoons were founded in 1999 by Det and DJ Illegal with the maxi single by Pal One from Mannheim. The vinyl ep Hip Hop - The Return of the Culture followed in 2004 with old school rapper Donald D on the Frankfurt label Hot Shit. Also released on Hot Shit in 2004 was the maxi single Clip Full of Ammo, featuring J-Sands from the Lone Catalysts and Mitchell Hennessy.
A year later (2005) the maxi single Who What When Where with Celph Titled and Majik Most was released via the online shop HipHopVinyl.de (HHV for short). This maxi-single was taken from the debut album German Lugers, released in 2007 on the US label Babygrande Records. Particularly worth mentioning is the feature list of artists from across the US underground hip-hop scene, e.g. Sean Price from Heltah Skeltah, Edo G., Reef the Lost Cauze, Rasco from the Cali Agents, Jus Allah, Chief Kamachi, Living Legends and Wise Intelligent.
In 2008 the second album Black Snow was released again on Babygrande Records. A total of 47 artists are on the 21-song album, including Ill Bill, Defari, Psycho Realm, Army of the Pharaohs, R.A. The Rugged Man, listen.
At the beginning of 2009, Babygrande Records released the double album The Snowgoons Instrumentals, on which only the instrumental versions of the two albums German Lugers and Black Snow can be heard. In May 2009, the project A Fist in the Thought featuring South Carolina artists Lord Lhus and Savage Brothers was released. This project is considered a collaborative album and was also released through Babygrande Records.
Another project followed in July 2009, called German Snow, which for the first time is dedicated to German artists such as Curse, Aphroe (Ruhrpott AG), Nico Suave, Torch and many others. The basic idea is to remix the first two albums German Luger and Black Snow and to feature a German rapper on each song. Since it is a connection with German rappers and the titles of the first two albums, the name German Snow is self-explanatory. German Snow was released via Mad-Flava Records / Groove attack.
2009 the third official album The Trojan Horse was released again in October on the US label Babygrande Record. At the end of 2009, a free download album entitled Black Luger was released, which forms the counterpart to German Snow. Black Luger also features the remix versions of the original songs by German Luger and Black Snow, only this time without the German features, and is available for free on the Bandcamp website. Together with Danish rapper and producer Sicknature, the Snowgoons released the mixtape Banished From Home.
In December 2010, the Snowgoons released their fourth album entitled Kraftwerk on their own label Goon MuSick. The music video / short film Global Domination, which was produced by the Canadian production company Reel Wolf, will be released for the album. Also on Goon MuSick the Snowgoons released the projects The Iron Fist, which is the second part of A Fist in the Thought from 2009, and the digital EP Virohazard with Viro The Virus in the first half of 2011. In October 2011 the album by Reef followed the Lost Cauze and the Snowgoons entitled Your Favorite MC. In October 2011, Sicknature and also J.S. Kuster were announced as official members and since then the team has consisted of four people.
