@@NOLAgenX Ok. Did better than I thought. But man they pass up people with multiple hits No. 1 hits like Toni Braxton. To have been a reaction channel for nearly two years and NEVER done Toni Braxton. Only four Earth Wind and Fire? No Boyz II Men. One Jackson 5?

Gen X here. I was in my late teens and early 20's in the 90's. We were the last generation to not be plugged in. I know there are experiences that are unique to millennials and Gen Z, but there was something to be said for laying on each other in a pile on the lawn of someone's house and laughing. We were raised with knowledge of the horrors of the world in clear focus, and no answer in sight... so we had to make our own. We collectively vowed to raise children in a completely different way than our parents did. The generations after us have hope, education, compassion, and skill. I hope we did alright.

Amber gets that little bounce going and Jay starts smiling and here we go! 61 year old rock and blues guitarist here. 42 years in radio. I know what works. This works! The epitome of "cool"

This song was "stolen" or "borrowed" from the 70s - it is from The Andrea True Connection (a song called "More, More, More" the last 3 minutes) and is the main hook of the song. The fun and bouncy sounding piano. It's a cool sound nonetheless. A sound from the Disco Era of the 70s being repurposed as a hip-hop anthem of sorts.

Len's "Steal My Sunshine" was the only single to chart on the Billboard Hot 100 from this Canadian group, peaking @ #9 in 1999. The song was featured in the movie "Go" directed by Doug Liman starring an ensemble of young actors featuring Katie Holmes, Sarah Polley & Timothy Olyphant. The "Steal My Sunshine" musical hooks are sampled from the 1976 disco/pop crossover hit by Andrea True Connection "More, More, More" ( Hot 100 = #4/ Disco = #2; R&B = #23).

I was a grown up back then, living not too far from Huntington Beach, CA (where I think this video was shot). I was in a great group of friends, riding our bikes down to the beach on the weekends. This song brings back drinking margaritas out of mason jars and playing croquet in the back yard. So much fun, I wouldn't even go out in my over grown mess of a yard now.

Their whole album was produced by Biz Markie (Just a Friend). The story behind this video was they were given money to make the video and had no idea, so they took the money, rented the scooters and had a vacation and used the footage.
