This is an EXTREMELY weird mashup with strange cuts. The actual version is about 2 and a half minutes consisting of instrumentals and 2 verses with no repetition. Regardless, you definitely need to react to Dark Side Of the Moon as a whole in one setting. As much as you appreciate Pink Floyd now, it makes things 1000x more impressive. Love your reactions!

So, if I'm reading correctly, you've done the entire "Dark Side of the Moon" album…except for the album closer, "Brain Damage/Eclipse". (They're listed as separate songs, but one flows right into the other. Don't split them, please.) "Brain Damage/Eclipse" is not only my favorite song from the album… it's my favorite Pink Floyd song, period. And one of my favorite songs of all time. (Is that enough hype? I've got more if you need it.) Next, please. SOON, please. Thanks in advance.

At the beginning of the song - a child is born coming through the birth canal. When here - the singer says "breathe" and then the song goes on to give advice on how to live a nice life. - Then - the next song - and the rest of the album are particular life events experienced by some - if not all people. And the end you hear a heart beating - till it beats no more.

Pink Floyd started out as a "space band". They had songs like "Astronomy Domine" or "Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun". The songs would sound spacey because Syd Barrett would be so high on acid that he would constantly drone on one single note throughout a song or even multiple songs. He would be staring blankly into space w/ melting Bryl Creem in his teased out but slowly limping hair! (From the hot overhead spotlights!) True. The rest of the band would not indulge in drugs and would carry on as best as they could often jamming and improvising over a repetitive chord pattern. They sounded "spacey", and they looked spacey. In their early days they made their lighting backdrop the star of the show! The band performed as silhouettes in front of a psychedelic liquid light show as their background. They came to resent being called a band that plays "space" music. Roger especially did. But it's strange because Pink Floyd was always a "space band". They just went from outer to inner space after Syd died.

By the way, this is an odd, edited version, with bits missing or overly repeated. You should go with the full album version with the iconic "home" section at the end of Breathe: "Home, home again. I like to be here when I can. And when I come home cold and tired, I like to warm my bones beside the fire. Far away, across the fields, the tolling of the iron bell, calls the faithful to their knees, to hear the softly spoken magic spell." It then merges beautifully into "The Great Gig in the Sky". kzitem.info/news/bejne/l3qM222sf2d7Zo4

I believe that whole Dark Side Of Oz thing was started by Mark & Brian on KLOS radio out here in LA. Someone out here started that. Pink Floyd have always maintained that the album had nothing to do with the movie. I've done the Dark Side Of Oz. It is crazy in some parts how the music matches up, but you're left scratching your head in other parts. I think it's all just coincidence. I've never heard this version of Breathe. It's basically the song repeated twice. It's not that way on the album.

@@paulb4604 It makes no sense. Think about the logistics that would have been required to do this in 1973. Nobody involved in making the record says that ever happened.

Breathe is purposely paced to mimic deep calming breaths. Pink Floyd was a master of the conceptual album, where songs flow right into the next. This song and album was meant to be listened to in a dark room with black lights and a lava lamp with incense burning and while sitting in a velvet beanbag chair. Blacklight posters on the wall, quadrophonic speakers or headphones, and a fat doobie.
