The live version of this song from Earls Court in 1975 is outrageous.

Yep, probably 10 beats per minute faster then this version… unbelievable power and groove… throttle wide open, jonesy on keys AND bass pedals, Bonzo with mind melting fills executed with finesse, Page using the wah-wah pedal to funk it up to another level… Amazing

You smiled 3-4 beats in. You bobbed your head @ 5 beats. Glad you discovered this riff. @67, its still in my musical rotation! Cities like Detroit welcomed diverse in music. These guys, Pink Floyd, The Alan Parsons Project, J. Giels Band & others had a crossover style that clicked! 👍🏾👍🏾💯

This tune found it's way on to many dance floors back then. Radio and clubs loved it. Another example of Led Zeppelin's diversity in sounds.

... one of my favorites. I still have the 7" single I bought of this song back in '75. I was 14 at the time and heard it on the radio and went right out and bought the record.

Most of my money back then went on LP’s because there was such a high standard, that only the best got through. Physical Graffiti was never off my turntable, along with about 30 other bands from that wonderful era. Todays rubbish couldn’t hold a candle to these greats.

Great reaction, as usual! Thanks! Great funky tune, Zeppelin never fails to amaze. I think you'd really enjoying watching this performed live, so you might want to give that a whirl when/if you have the time. I recommend Earls Court 1975.

John Bonham & John Paul Jones were both big RnB fans; I think this came from a JPJ-led jam. He's playing the thumping bass on pedals beneath the Clavinola.
