Yess! Thank you! Some degree of covid restrictions that effect my business negatively have so far continued about 22 months longer than I thought they would, and with this burglary on top of that this just became an extraordinarily rough surf session haha, but I do believe I will come out of all of this stronger than ever. Just takes more time to get to the other side the bigger the damage is..!

Thanks! I was more or less out from playing proper full on games for 1-1.5 years because of a shoulder injury so I sort of know what it is like. Wish I had recorded a podcast episode about injury psychology and dealing with those periods of ones career that I have planned to record but haven't gotten to yet. Anyway, one thing at a time. Hope you will be able to get something good out of this period anyway, and thank you, it really helps hearing this!

Yeah.. I hope insurance will cover most of the stuff, what they can't cover is payment for all the damn hours that goes into fixing this rather than making videos for you guys.. But it is what it is, there's probably some lesson in this too that will help me in the long run! 💪 Thanks for understanding, the damage would just get even worse if on top of it all you guys would start thinking that it seems like I don't want this project after all since I am not making videos..

Sorry that for the computer and equipment lost. I can't imagine feeling violated like that and losing all of that hard work. However, just for the future whether it's related to this incident or not it might be worth considering and ssd thumbdrive and many have enormous amount of room for a relatively low cost and you can use a password code so this incident will not repeat itself at least to the same extent as this one. Just hate to see that hard work go to waste. I would have agreed with you on the will you lose people that follow you had it been a few months or even a year. However, you have built up a much larger audience then you know so I would not be concerned with it. People know the quality of work you do and like your personality and what you teach. You have your fans and did a great job building up your followers. Hang in there I am sure it's very hard but both myself and other Bostonians are hoping for the best for you .

Thank you so so much. Yes, I will look into backup possibilities a bit more, but I do have 2 huge harddrives that I dump everything onto every 6-12 months, and store them in physically different places just in case one of them would get stolen or one of the buildings burn down (I have a friend who had video footage from 15 years of his fishing career that was going to become a huge movie disappear when his house burnt down.. he is a world famous flyfisher and moviemaker.. trying to learn from his mistake.) i think in the end i probably didn't lose too too much video footage that would need to be re-recorded, but it will take some time to get all new equipment and everything installed and finding the backups and organizing everything. Regarding the audience, this is what I am hoping. I have been trying to stay "true and honest and careful about what I teachand say" throughout this whole project, and I hope people will recognize this and appreciate it. Not necessarily the strategy that builds an audience the quickest way, but if I actually manage to create real impact in peoples lives and beach volleyball careers, that rends to stick in the memory.. Or at least it has for me. I still perk my ears when the people I have learned the most from online do something new, even if I sometimes haven't heard from them in years..

Haha yeah really.. In the big picture nothing has changed, but short term my work definitely changed from content production to damage reduction and logistics.. Sucks that it happened in the middle of the summer which is the best time to release new content, and that the covid pandemic also put me into damage reduction&logistics rather than content creation, but not much I can do about it I guess. Haha regarding updates I am not sure, I update a bit on Instagram here and there, but the big important updates I post here on KZitem actually. When even bigger and even more important updates will come, the email list subscribers will be the ones hearing about it first! :)

Oh, I totally get you. I hate this stupid situation but there is a first time for everything I guess :( Next time you'll know better. One thing I wonder, if you don't mind exposing: Do you still do carpentry or are you a full-time coach right now? I'm just curious because I thought full-time coaches work the same amount of hours throughout the whole year (maybe a little more during in the summer season). As you said, you're even more fed up with this situation because it's the middle of summer so I was wondering why. But I understand if this is too personal to share.
@LearnBeachVolleyballFast

@@danielmaldonado1646 Yeah, we learn from everything I guess! :) Good question. So the coaching gig I had before the pandemic, and this summer is in Oslo for the club here, but the contact is summertime only. There are probably opportunities to coach year around somewhere else, but so far I haven't found anything that is both legal (in terms of work permits etc) and something I'd like to do, so I have ended up with all sorts of hybrid solutions. I do carpentry from time to time when I need money, but this is also kinda counterproductive for this project because it both eats up my time and energy plus makes my body stiff and sluggish, which is the opposite I need it to be for volleyball, flexible/mobile and energetic. So there are ways to get money relatively quickly but they are usually quite counterproductive for the goals of this project. Anyway, the solution I've been aiming for is to live with minimal living costs over the winters and focus on content creation instead, do coaching in the summers and try to make this work with as little carpentry as possible until this project is in a better state. Covid has put trouble both towards living cheaply in the winters as well as job security in the summers so it's been a difficult time with a lot of uncertainty added to my plans that were already a big undertaking in themselves... Anyway, I think one day all of this hard work will pay off. :)

If I am lucky they will compensate me a bit for the physical stuff that is gone, but the big loss is really all the time it will take to get back on track I believe.. Especially if there was any important video content that was not backed up, which I am not sure of yet. We will see.
