This song really helped me. My husband died and the next morning I put on my playlist and this song came on. I was feeling like what’s the point in carrying on but the lyrics “ you got a reason to live” got to me. I sat and cried but I still play it when life gets me down. I still cry but I suppose I always will. Thanks for reacting to this song ❤

Agreed! This song is #1 on my "Songs to Survive By" playlist. It has gotten me to get back up after being knocked down on more than one occasion.

@@barbparknavy9119 That's a good idea a "songs to survive" the amount of times I've wanted to give up, and a song will come on and lift me up, or make me think twice.

Gregg Alexander from the New Radicals also wrote 2 great songs for Ronan Keating - Lovin each day and Life is a Rollercoaster. He is also a great producer.

New Radicals was an American alternative rock band formed in 1997 in Los Angeles. The band was formed by Gregg Alexander who also wrote the huge hit for Michelle Branch she did with Carlos Santana. You want to watch this soon..... Santana - The Game Of Love (Video) ft. Michelle Branch

Gregg Alexander (lead singer songwriter) is a super underrated talent. I’ve been following his music since I was a kid. He’s been writing lots of hits for various artists and bands since the New Radicals and even wrote music for a film called Begin Again with Keira Knightley, Mark Ruffalo, and Adam Levine. One of the best pop songwriters of our time. Sophie Ellis Bextor’s song Murder On the Dance Floor has had a resurgence as well bc of that Saltburn movie and he wrote that song too! Another song you might know of his is Game Of Love by Michelle Branch and Santana. You should totally check out more of his work. Btw LOVE your summary of the song, it’s a breath of fresh air in the KZitem world! ❤

This song was also covered by the cast of Glee and you have to see that as well, you’ll find it on YT… may even be a bit better then the original (at least it ties this one IMO).

Released in 1998 became a huge hit on the media video providers at the time. My three kids liked the video/song and I heard it often back then. The lyrics have a positive message while the video inspired some misbehaving from his peers. The musical arrangements are done well for basic rock elements, nothing outstanding but a nice feel and rhythm carried the tune. Vocals are done with character and delivered nicely with the songs attitude. It basically was a "One Hit Wonder" and the group broke up shortly after this song hit the public. Not bad for that generation.
