Man having a truck is about like having a young kid. If you want a stress free weekend away you gotta find a babysitter and pay them aka the mechanic to give you a break from the madness. I do it sometimes when I have a busy weekend and have to pay $100-200. You’re right about the profit margins. When I started owner op I was living in an apartment so I was very limited on what I could do myself. If it requires electricity or air, I couldn’t do it. Keep on trucking! love your down to earth content

Enjoying your videos, you’re down to earth and real. No blowing smoke on this channel. Lol I just signed on with a company to pull hopper, I’ve been doing reefer. I’m used to long waits so I don’t see a difference there. Been sitting in a door for 2 hours and they just started on me. Anyway, I’m still trying to watch them all but keep teaching me about hopper hauling. This is a new venture and I hope it works out. I grew up in the trucking industry, I didn't get into but was still involved with helping my old man with his trucks up until he passed 2019, I have to agree with you 100%, my dadhad to put his truck in the shop a few times over the years and it seemed like you had to finish the work when we would get the truck back, clamps loose, lines not put back in brackets, or miss diagnose something and we would end up having to fix ourselves anyway, I'm like you, if were to be in a truck that's only way I know how.

Dumas. Delivered a load of millet there, and they rejected it for aflatoxin. Had to do a send-off test, which took 3 days. It passed that test. Had to wait 2 more days to unload because they were full. They tied my truck and trailer up for 5 days. Was told I would get 600 a day for detention. I billed that and was told it was too much. It's been 120 days .Haven't received a dime, and they don't even want to talk about it. Stay safe out there.
