"You wonder about someone who you shouldn't be wondering about" T H I S. I, about a month ago, decided to close all my socials that don't benefit my work. I'm a photographer so I kept my instagram, my twitter and facebook pages that are solely dedicated to my work and of course my youtube because I make videos from time to time. But like I found myself constantly checking up on people that I shouldn't be and it was literally taking a toll on my mental health. It's good to take a break sometimes and focus on yourself. I'm glad you made a video on this topic btw!!!

There's so much to talk about! 😭 I'm actually glad I didn't plan this first video out and write notes bc it would've gone on forever but I def want to do a more organized follow-up one day.

I agree with a lot your saying. I am 29 and deleted a lot of my media when I was 27 and so thankful. We do compare one way or another whether we like it. It has great things to show the world and culture but kids are having access to phones and technology at like the age of 2-3 which is so young. They start young being influenced, hence a lot of young women who are like in their teens or early 20's look like they are in their 30's lol or try to act older than their age. I have also witnessed people being more anti-social and not able to socialize and my own friend is not socializing with anyone except his phone (which is effecting the whole family massively). I only had my first phone when I entered university, when I earned it, that is really a culture that is being lost sadly. Share this video peeps so more people get some knowledge to accept this fact lol.

You are so real I love everything about you!!! It makes me sad that you don't get as much love and credit as all of these KZitemrs that are out here promoting and idolizing all the wrong things to the world and don't talk about anything MEANINGFUL or give back anything truly positive to viewers that is genuine ! If I could subscribe 1,000,000 times to your channel I would. Don't change anything about your personality!

we don't really hear a lot of people talk about this topic online, there's only a few, so i'm glad you did! & it's just nice to know that you think & feel the same way about it too. I feel a dad for saying this but it's cuhrazyyy how the younger generation's lifestyle is nowadays

It's a trip bc this is social media age is their "reality" 😫 but that's why we're here, to kindly check their butts and teach them about life outside of the internet.

Gurll am glad you made this video! I always think about stuff like this . It's hard because the future generation won't understand the struggle hahah we can't deprive them of technology and bring it back to how we grew up. So there's no win win but just keeping them occupied with activities like you said sounds like a good resort. Huge fan btw been following you since tumblr ahaha

Totally! So since our generation is the last to know what it was like before today's internet, we have the most vital information to pass along.

Social media terrifies me when it comes to the influence it has on kids, particularly KZitem. It's way too easy to find videos of privileged kids doin' not-so-everyday shit what seems like everyday, and younger kids will think that it's the norm. I really think the internet should have an age limit..maybe like 12, and social media at 16. I'm 30, and I was introduced to the net/social media/chat rooms in its mainstream conception with AOL chat rooms/instant messenger in the early 2000s, my cousin and I had a GeoCities page full of Dragon Ball Z pictures [I know around that time], and I had a BlackPlanet page all around that age. Myspace is when shit got real with the whole construct of social media [I was like 16 or 17 when I was on Myspace]. I don't know what my original point was. Oh yeah, age limit. I think since internet is the norm now, it should be limited and closely monitored for younger kids.

You're in Hollywood though. Kids aren't like this everywhere. Don't lose faith in the young ones.

Oh I know kids aren't like this everywhere, I was just speaking on my experience in West Hollywood, hence my emotional response. But whether or not kids are in Hollywood or not, they are being effected by social media. I have family in Kentucky and can say some of the same things about them. So it's important the generation that bridges the gap between pre-internet and today's internet, bring the kids back down to earth as much as possible.

That doesnt matter. I'm in Virginia and kids are like this. They might not have yeezys and the most expensive clothes but the little girls still dress like they're 21 and do their makeup like Instagram girls at 12, and they're still comparing themselves to the kids online. The internet makes the world small so it doesn't really matter where you are to be honest.

I have to disagree, kids even in small rural places (where I am) are with phones and tablets. I see parents giving it to them and letting them do what they want. Its a practice we are slowly allowing to avoid us being distracted as adults. Its so important that parents teach the importance of actually education and not being brainwashed via the internet. I wouldn't personally give my kids, if I have them access to these things. My own parents had a computer out in the open til I graduated high school and when I look back I am SO thankful for that, its so easy to deter if not done.
