Social media is on the fence of being 90% harmful but it hasn’t crossed that fence yet. In my experience the horrible outcomes of using social media are fueled by your pre existing problems. For example in my case I have always had like seeds for mental health problems but when I started using social media those seeds are now fully grown. For the healthy person social media usage in moderation shouldn’t be a problem.

I listened to this video while I was outside trying to take a picture of the super moon on August 12 on Spotify and it was worth it. It made the experience feel more special to me because I was listening to something that made me feel like I was receiving meaningful information, even if it is just a conversation about things I'm aware of already, hearing how you tell stories and use comparisons to certain things you've seen, etc I enjoy it so much listening to the stories and analogies made. It helps me see things in a more clearer way with a visual and picture. Thank you Sissphyus

I just wanted to comment to say that I very much love and appreciate these podcasts! ( as well as your usual creative content of course). I feel like this podcast episode in particular brought up a lot of ideas that I've found intriguing for quite a while and that I've ruminated on, but I haven't had the opportunity to discuss with someone else. It's nice to have something like this, in the absence of friends, where you and your guest express similar thoughts and feelings that I've experienced myself, while also introducing new concepts or perspectives that are insightful! :)

THANK YOU! ⚡ omg, you can't imagine how much I needed this rn I'm on the verge of going crazy and this video is seriously what I needed now.. One of your videos got recommended to me in my "Thoughts" section @ Home (I was already a subscriber before) and have noticed that your past videos been kinda short /for my likings at least haha) and then I saw the length of this video and I'm glad already 'bout the deep research and work + dedication you've put into it. I'm totally exhausted from life right now, physically tired and it's been a long night in a pretty stressful week with a harsh outlook atm Social Media...is a big cause for this problem, I don't begin to realize but start to realize more and more and once again.. The constant comparison, narratives and drive to keep us busy, engaged and consuming, essentially spending most of our times on given platforms rather than with ourselves is seriously harming and if you think 'bout it not only really unhealthy but kind of bizarre and all just an illusion to some degree. I'm just asking myself how haunting all of these thoughts and contradictions have to be for people who don't spend no time with themselves to really reflect on their character or really don't have the time to 'til their emotional card house eventually just comes crashing down. so, once again, thank you! 👏💫

only at 20 minutes in, this intervention concept sounds really cool and accesable!! Would be a good thing to have when someone is isolated and maybe uses social media too much or it has too much of an impact on their life.

I think the idea that an AI could put together a better picture of a person than friends/family isn’t correct, at least for me. I show different faces on every platform I’m on, as well as different groups/settings in real life. I am (and, we are) no one person, we are many. This era we are living in is in a sense the most shattered/schizophrenic era in human history. Where as before, the most social of us would have half a dozen discrete groups that would in turn conjure half a dozen versions of yourself, most of us now have at least that many. Some have dozens I like it this way. It lets me indulge in aspects of myself I feel like on the given day, instead of being stuck, quietly yearning

Hey I love the show I think you guys at the start we're talking about this idea of profilicity. There's another guy on KZitem called "Carefree Wanderings" who talks a lot about that philosophical topic. I don't know if he is interested in being on your podcast, but I think it could be a really interesting conversation.

I was a zombie for 2 years after seriously burning out in 2019, so depressed - feeling like those years are just gone - the critic in my head is vicious. Buts its constant process of learning and unlearning. Because as lonely as this experience has made me, Ive realised if I don't overhaul how I take care of myself this crash would happen again. I was listening to a podcast that said, “it’s important to live life by design rather than emotion. Basically, sticking to a routine is what allows us to be the healthiest version of ourselves (especially when you're fighting these demons ex. OCD for me). I’ve had to overhaul how I approach taking care of my brain (journaling) by practising mediocre consistency. Now I try to put in consistent 50-60% effort into my journaling habit, workouts and studying - to make sure I do it I began recording it and posting it on YT, i guess i'm trying to overhaul how I use social media as well.

Hey, I want to let you know two things: 1. This is the first time I see this consistent 50/60% effort concept anywhere. It's quite intriguing and I might give it a try. 2. I had a look at your channel and what strikes me is this seemingly very honest purpose of your channel. It's not for views or your own glory, it's for you. And I applaud that. I hope you succeed in keeping the consistency. You've inspired something similar in me. If I decide to start my channel I'll remember this. Thank you
