What's funny is some people actually can't think silently. They have to speak to hear their thoughts.

Or to slow them down.... you can think a damn sight faster then you can speak and that can get you muddled if you're trying to process it.

If you're wondering what the voice sounds like, well it does sound like anything. It's not a physical voice. It's the same process you use to read this right now. It's abstraction combined with his intuition not to do something.

The word “democracy” comes from Ancient Greek: “Demos” : people, and “cratos”: power. And I read Socrates didn’t like it for the non-educated and the unethical would also be allowed to vote.

I don’t think that Socrates really meant that he knew nothing. If he was that wise, he probably meant he knew nothing for sure.

Democracy comes from ‘demos’, the people. It is worth discussing the difference between demos and hoi polloi. DemoNcracy, on the other hand, comes from not listening to your conscience (if you’re (un)lucky enough to have one) but to demons who deceive with their smooth talking.

Socrates was beaten by his wife every day of his life ;mistreated like no other man by his wife, and never had children;from which spring his philosophy :” if u get a good wife , you will become happy ; and if u get a bad one you will become a philosopher “ whereas Plato, his teacher, had so many women ,and many children & no woman scolded him.. iI wonder who was the wise man 😉

@williamDaJoker @NickWeis Wordplay in the mind is highly subjective to consciousness and unconsciousness. I had a very Christian upbringing, with a massive exception to psychology. The theory I was presented as a child has bothered me since, in at least half the people I meet. Is it your conscious, your subliminal mind, or the third voice trying to keep you in good standing with whatever, or whomever you're speaking to.

I am afraid that you are wrong here Jordan. Democracy comes from the word «Δήμος» which means Municipality/People/Citizens. You are very rarely finding me disagreeing with you and I honestly admire most of your thinking fields. But Demon comes from the word «Δαίμων» which means Evil, Bad Spirit and Demon.
