In general... No don't do this. But especially if you live in an arid climate. Multiple versions of sodium are used for specific uses in the detergents industry, but what they all have in common is salination of soil over time....so kills plants.

Sodium percarbonate is basically hydrogen peroxide in powder form so doesn't kill plants. Do your research...
