Your Resolume tutorials are awesome, I learned a lot. For this subject though I can give you back something. First time I had to do this it took me a week to figure out how to blend 8 projectors. But now I have a "process" and blending 16 projectors can be done in 4 to 5 hours. Here is my proces for projector blending in Resolume. 1. determine the middle of the physical projection surface and place projectors to fit as good as possible with about 30% overlap. Make a composition the size of all beamer resolutions added up and -30% overlap. 2. with testcard pattern on, in the input selection tab, move the input selection of the first beamer until the middle line of the test card is in the middle of the projection surface. repeat for the second projector and move until the centre of the testcard fits over the first beamer. 3. in output selection > edit points. Adjust any perspective distortion for a not so accurately placed projector (use the big handle squares for perspective correction) 4. in output selection > edit points. Adjust any lens distortion with the small handle squares first in linear mode, second with Bézier on. 5. only turn on soft edge when pixels fit perfectly. It's the moment that makes me smile when hours of tweaking a big projection setup pays off and it is all done. Tips: -Only go to the next step if you feel there is no more improvements possible and never go back a step (unless you want to start over) -For blending more than 2 projecors, start blending the middle and work your way out. -Avoid touching pixels that are blended already, so no perspective correction anymore if one side of a projector is already blended. -Take a break before you get frustrated and start looking into Vioso for automating blending 🙂

Thank you. 16 projectors is very impressive! 3 is probably the most I’ve done in Resolume. That’s some very useful advice! But yeah anything up at that level it would be worth looking at a media server with Visio onboard.

This comment gives me hope. Starting from scratch, using these tutorials... did you manage by yourself to edgeblend/warp 16 projectors using only Resolume (and I'm guessing a video wall controller)?

@@sv443 no separate video wall controller. Resolume IS the controller. Just 2 Blackmagic Decklink cards as the video output.

We are trying to find someone to help us with a current project. We are trying to combine 12 projectors to display one large image. We are currently using Datapath FX4 devices to support this need. We need assistance to edge blend the 12 projectors to create one clean image. We’ve heard there is softwares that can help but don’t have any experience in this arena. The projectors we are using are the Viewsonic LS550wh. Do you have any experience by chance or know of someone who may be able to help? We would be happy to pay you of course. Thank you so much!

I'm using three NEC Sharp projectors, which don't qualify to use any of Sharps in-house software for edge blending, would Resolume be able to help me with those projectors? The biggest issue we are finding is the overlap area for the three projectors are WAY brighter and so we have two "lines" in the middle of our triple wide. any suggestions ?

Help!!!! I CANNOT get the middle aligned! I can get the top and bottom of the middle aligned just fine, but the middle of the middle is always off.

Hi Colten, You may need to use bezier points or subdivide the output l to get a bit more control. In the output when you have “edit points” selected there will be some extra “warping” options on the right.

@@mith thank you. I actually just tried to get it as close as possible then just started messing with the gamma and power and luminance settings and actually got it! I will try bezier next time.
