Good review! I love my Seal XR so much, I bought a second. Glad I did, first one, after thousands of fidget flicks, broke a spring. Blade just flops open now, won't solidly lock up. It happens. Gotta send it back when SOG reopens in July. Solid warranty, so I'm not worried. Plus, I have the spare, a a brand new one, to carry.

Man, I've heard worries about the omega spring but never seen a personal story. That sucks. How good is SOG's warranty? Is it the kind of "send it in and we'll fix it no questions asked" like Leatherman and Essee?

I’ve had mine for a few weeks now and the detent is definitely heavy. Hoping it loosens over time.

I've carried a Spyderco Manix 2XL as my EDC for the last 6 yrs & I absolutely LOVE this knife. I'm a lefty so finding a knife with everything I want on it is extremely hard. I just received the SOG XR Flipper as an X MASS gift from a close friend of mine. My first impression was Holy Shit this thing is a BEAST ! The lock action is amazing & I'm liking the " persuader tool ". I don't think there's another knife out there that would make me put up my Manix 2xl other than this SOG. I'm excited to see how this knife performs !

@@DaveLikesKnives Spyderco just had a sprint run of the Manix 2XL in M4 steel & the day I called to get one they had sold out. Flytanium makes the titanium back spacer , titanium liners & a titanium ball cage for the Manix 2XL. Get a set of carbon fiber scales too & that just might be my EDC Excalibur !! A persuader tool would be a great addition although I'm sure you could use what's there now for striking & it would be plenty effective.

@DaveLikesknives - the hole in the blade can be used by putting a zip tie through it & gaining the Emerson Wave opening action. It would be awesome for a company to make a metal attachment that would use the jimpimg like rails on an AR-15 to be installed to give you Emerson Wave capabilities. I have a zip tie on mine & it works just fine but I'll admit is cheap looking. Function over fashion though for me lol

5x5 Combat makes a solid attachable wave for various spydercos, but I do wish there was a way to wave everything.

This is dope to see someone else doing this. Admittedly I got the idea from a Para 2 but its still dope to see somebody else has done it as well. Lmao I love how it looks lowkey

@@DaveLikesKnives Tyty! It much appreciated. I was bitten by the bug as a kid and have collected ever since. Even though I lost everything during Katrina most of what I have now I've collected since then. Anyway thanks again for checking out my channel. I'm new to the KZitem thing and still getting used to it. Hopefully it works out because I have lots more to share.🍻✌

I'm not sure if you are exaggerating for giggles but I own this knife and the jimping doesn't hurt my fingers at all. Also my little sister who is just above 5 feet in stature, can easily open this knife with the thumb hole. So you may need to work out those hands. Unless of course you were just kidding.
@DaveLikesKnives

I wasn’t kidding, but I’m glad that what doesn’t work for me does work for you. I’ve long known that my hands are two sizes too small, and thankfully the knife still works great. I will continue to advocate against jimping on the finger landing because I believe they serve no positive purpose and can only serve as a negative. Although again, I am glad that doesn’t bother you.

Put the knife in a dagger grip closed and run the flipper against ur palm. I have one and that's the only way I found to do it
