Sounds smooth, tension-free, supported, and powerful too. Her placement is also stunning (balanced mix) and it's very difficult to sustain that placement while singing a C6 note or G#5, let alone do a jump from C5 to C#6. Usually, many singers go to mask placement or a very heady mix (or just HV) because of lacking techniques or due to their vocal range limits...or undeveloped registers. Sohyang is undoubtedly the best female singer when it comes to balanced and supported mixed voice.
@whitedarkkun7222

I agree and think she has a mindset more like a pageant singer than a songwriter. She improves herself in every way. Even the best singers in the world faced a dead end. But she keeps doing it better and better. Like a singing monster be thirsty Although she can choose belt c6 a few times to maintain her voice. But she does it really well every time.
@Tzuyuuu.

She doesn’t have a balanced mix. Sohyang has pharyngeal resonance combined with great vowel shape to sound full and round. But that’s why she sounds like she doesn’t have any “chest resonances”
@user-hp4uu1th8p
Жыл бұрын
@@Tzuyuuu.As a really objective standard, I say that Sohyang's vocalization in that area is unrivaled, and it's really ridiculous. If I had to pick one thing as a basis, I would talk about securing mouth space in the super-high range, such as C6 and C#6. First of all, I'll explain why it's difficult to make a chest sound by widening the mouth in the high-pitched range and to produce a tight, well-belted vocalization. First of all, let me explain about glottal upper pressure. Why did I tell you this? The more you go to the high register, the smaller you open your mouth, the higher the pressure in the oral cavity, and the stronger the contact between the head voice, which greatly helps with strong head voice. Conversely, the wider you open your mouth, the weaker the pressure. That's why, rather than opening your mouth wide when making a high note, the more you open your mouth a little less, the more the sound gathers and the greater the contact between your voices. But what is the reason Sohyang opens her mouth so wide? The wider she opens her vocal cords, the lower part of the vocal cords, namely the middle, and even a certain part of the lower edge = the difference between the upper and lower glottal pressure increases. When this happens, the subglottic pressure naturally increases, and as the contact force becomes stronger, the vocal cords' vibration range increases, and as a result, the sound becomes louder, which is advantageous for making the sound of the chest. Unfortunately, other than Sohyang, I have yet to see a singer who can maximize these characteristics as much as Sohyang and sing in 4 octaves. In addition, Sohyang lowers the position of the larynx (expansion of the resonant cavity) to prevent the narrowing of the sound, and the higher the pitch is played, the softer the soft palate is secured, and the expansion of various articulation organs. Through it, it uses tremendous resonance to make the sound rather thick. That's why it creates a rather hard, thick, and solid texture compared to the texture and thickness of the sound of other singers in the 4-octave range. Therefore, this sound is a balenced mix, which is an appropriate arrangement of obvious chest and head voices.

@@Tzuyuuu. She is staying in top of the 5th octave all the time here... I mean, who the hell can be more balanced with enough chest coordination in this kind of vocalization except Sohyang? lol She can show chest resonance as well when she needs. Listen her ‘Everyone’ or ‘It’s only my world’.
