Really like this setup. Of course the price is directly related to if id get it. I do believe these kits are getting better. Usually i go for a first aid kit that has survival gear. I find those are the most useful because cuts and bites are part of the fun. I always add 7-Eleven travel pack aspirin and Imodium. My last things ive found indispensable is bug repellent I use sawyer Picaridin. And for water "membrane solutions" 6liter it's on Amazon usually under $35. What makes it great besides price. And coming with a gravity feed bag is the filter is rebuildable and carbon. I really dare anyone to find a better filter. Plus rebuild kits are $7. Well that was my late night jabbering. I also don't wanna leave without saying how good a job your doing. I didn't realize how many kits you have shown. My wife would kill me if i had that many. An she loves outdoor gear. Lol.

Haha 🤣 my wife is always asking me what is coming in the mail! I ordered these kits a while back and had them put away for a while until I had alittle time to start the channel. Work cutting is back to 8 hours a day helps me have alittle time to be able to make some videos in the afternoon when the kids go to sleep. I love the ideas of the things you like to add to these kits. That is great because these kits seem to be a supplement to me and they leave room to be able to add stuff to each kit. Bug repellent is an awesome idea no one ever thinks about that one until you’re all ripped up! Thanks for the view and kind comment I appreciate it a lot!

Your absolutely right it’s hard to create water container to boil in out in the woods. It would be ok as an overnight kit for fire starting and keeping warm for a night. Suitable for 24 hours not 36 it would make for an uncomfortable 24 hour overnight stay that’s about it. I would classify it as “better than nothing”

@@whitetailsurvival2430the best and only kits are from SOLKOA. The rest is a china marketing gag most of the time. Even the Navy Seals use SOLKOA kits.

No cutting tool, no water purification, no medical, no cordage, no lighting. Kit is a fail IMHO as apart time survival instructor.

Absolutely I don’t think these are designed to be a full survival kit. Seems to me to be a supplement or addition to a kit. I am not a survival instructor at all but I do know I could take this kit on a day hike and spend the night in the woods with it and survive until the morning. It wouldn’t be fun or very entertaining but I definitely could still throw up a rough shelter and make a fire and survive one night with it. I imagine as a survival instructor you could also. There’s a way to make a shelter and a way to make a fire with them two things I can definitely survive for one night in that case the kit has served it purpose. Creativity is very important also, fishing line isn’t just fishing line it’s also cordage. Doubled and tripled over fishing line is extremely strong. There is alot of it in this kit. I don’t need a knife or bandage or even water to survive one overnight in the woods. It would be nice to have all that stuff for sure, that’s why I put that stuff in my kit but you can survive without it for a single night. People are quick to jump on these kits and say “junk” or “useless” but if this kit is capable of making a fire and keeping someone from dying from being lost overnight I call it a win. It’s not a luxurious camping kit. It’s a kit with a few items that can be dropped into a pocket or into a daypack while you’re hiking! That’s my opinion we can all have our own though! Thanks for the view and comment. I appreciate you teaching people how to survive!

@@whitetailsurvival2430 All true. But I live in the Southwest desert. Water is vital. Clean water even more so. When I had a survival channel her years ago I field tested the Altoids kits. Except for the heat sheet they had more and better gear. Remember, these pre-made kits are usually bought by people with no survival experience. I watched a video yesterday where a reviewer had paid $111 for the Henry survival kit and bitterly bashed almost every item in it. It was sad to watch. I'll see if I can find the link for you. If you can find the old SOL DOUG RITTER survival kit I'd like to see your review if it. I have one somewhere in one of my vests that I rebuilt.

@@dirtyscoundrel2013 I actually had a Doug Ritter hit a while back I still have the knife from it I’m not sure where the rest of the kit went. I think I broke it down into other kits that’s normally what I do with these. I suit them to fit in my environment. Luckily for me I live in PA so it’s not hard for me to find clean fresh water. I also thought the Henry kit was pretty good I have the survival rifle that came with that kit it’s a cool firearm. People need to learn the skills to match their environment plus they do need to outfit their kit for their skill level and their own environment just like you do. Water shelter and fire should be at the top of every kit no matter what. You should also be able to know how to use the items in your kit. At least where I live there’s not a lot of city people. Most people hunt or fish already and are used to navigating forest terrain. The people that don’t hunt or fish don’t typically put themselves in a place in the woods where they could get lost. That mileage may vary in your area. Some people are not going to toss a pack on everytime they leave their car either. I would if I knew there’s a potential of getting tangled up somewhere. Especially if it was in an arid climate such as yours. If you have belt sized kits made with a nesting cup or camp pot, that’s the way to go. You can make a pretty versatile kit in a pouch that size. The kits I have made to sell are in a larger container and are in a condor gadget pouch with a fixed blade knife and a 2 liter water bag plus plenty of water purification tablets. It will be a cool one to show when I’m all done with these premade kits I will show my own rendition of my own kit. Thanks for the comments and having a peaceful discussion with me about this topic I love hearing other people’s opinions. Stick around so you can see my kit! I will be glad to hear improvements and recommendations of how to make mine better!

@@whitetailsurvival2430 Sounds like a good kit. Yeah, water here is valuable. Rain in rocks and rock tanks I won't touch. The wildlife depends on it. And water holes for cattle are nasty because cows don't care, they defecate in it. In Albuquerque people hike up the Sandías mountain get lost and call for search and rescue. I found a bunch of them once and said, do you see that big glowing thing down there? That's Albuquerque. Don't listen to poltergeist, just follow the trails down and go into the light. I had to baby them down to parking. Most weren't dressed for the weather and we're dehydrated. It was sad. Now think about them. Do you think any of them would be bright enough to use that heat sheet and fishing line to rig a shelter? I doubt they could build a fire with those supplies on a warm sunny day with no breeze. Let alone in the dark when shivering. True, one could wrap up in the blanket but what about the others in the group? Which is why I think kits should be more complete and mandatory.
