I just got the new RYOBI 1800W Powerstation ( • Ryobi 40V 1800W Power... ). Unfortunately it does NOT have pass-thru or MPPT solar charging. I was still interested to see if I could solar charge it thru the 42V input charging port. I had a Genasun MPPT Solar Charger from another project and a charging cord from my little Ryobi 40V charger. I put in XT-60 connectors so I could user the wall-wart or the Solar Charger. It worked in low winter sun with two 100W panels in series.
You can also solar charge a 40V battery using the same set-up with the Ryobi OP404 40V charger. I have tested it.
Things used:
Renogy 100W folding solar panel ( amzn.to/3ebJGtY )
Richsolar 100W flexible solar panel ( amzn.to/2MQelBG )
Genasun 40V Lithium MPPT Solar Charge controller ( amzn.to/3rhrv9G )
Ryobi 40V charger ( amzn.to/3qwxEOi )
power meter ( amzn.to/2OjNQVA )
Inexpensive MPPT Solar Charge controller ( amzn.to/3NIrztQ )
XT-60 connectors ( amzn.to/3sQ2UsV )
