Just got my T1.D6 lefty Solar a couple days ago. I’ve never played on anything with Evertune so that’s a learning curve for me. Today I attempted to get the Evertune into the stage 2/3 sweet spot so that you can do bends on the strings. Well…I snapped a string 🤷🏼♂️. Other than that I’m loving the guitar I look forward to spending time with it once I truly understand the Evertune system. Great video!

Hey there, I know I’m late to this but wanted to chime in, in the event it saves you some frustration. I snapped about 7 high e strings doing the same thing. If you haven’t tried it yet, give the strings about two or three winds around the tuning head (especially the thinnest strings). Evertune and locking tuners create a failure point right at the tuning machine, adding the wraps/winds as you would a normal tuning head seems to really resolve the issue. Cheers and I hope it helps!

I was watching Glenn Fricker with the Solar Type T and I’m such a Telecaster fanatic anyway I was resolved to get one. Great to hear some in-depth about their other models. I think that brand is going to be a force to be reckoned with.

Thank you for watching the video, I appreciate the support. Solar is a good brand and Ola is driven. I’m certainly not sponsored by them but I’m a proud player of solar guitars. I think you are right they are a brand for the future. They seem to be making all the moves, from a budget line to a custom line. Their machine is impressive. Thank you again for the support.

You review and feedback has brought me even closer to pulling the trigger and ordering a Solar. The one reason I haven't bought one yet is because I'm a leftie...so I've never been able to try one out. You can't really get the feel for a guitar when you ''trying it out' upside down. I'll be get an Evertune on mine....another thing I haven't been able to really try out due to being a lefty. I have been playing guitar since 1992 and I am still complaining about beign lefthanded. I wish i had forced myself to learn righthanded.

Thank you tuning into my channel. I too am a lefty but for some some reason when I started playing when I was a kid I picked up the guitar the way I saw ace frejley playing it on tv or whatever so I ended up playing right handed. Strange how things go sometimes. I Ola announced last week that new lefty solars are available. I don’t know what they are but I figured I would mention it. Good luck and please feel free to keep me posted on your Solar journey.

Nice review. I'm awaiting a Solar, as I type... got another month or so to go. .... working on my right hand : that's what I should be doing now... not typing. As soon as I get thru CPR re-cert on Sat, I use some metal riffage to shake out the overflex the re-cert will cause., Interesting that your G-type had the bow. I'm hoping mine comes proper, out of the box... the next good tech is 70+ miles away and I don't want to do that drive, if I can avoid it. You might give a friendly mention to Solar, as they want to know about any issues that are found in the unpack, and if their customers don't chip in with the info, they (Solar) can't improve quality (former design and quality engineer here). They are actually quite nice to work with, as long as the communications are kept civil (the flamethrowers/name-callers deserve what they get, imo Good riffs.

Great video brother! I've got the A2.6AG and I LOVE it and . Glad you touched on the Solar+ pups. I was thinking about an AB 1-series and assumed that was likely the case with them. Totally agree that the regular Solars are a little "tamer" than the passives in some of my other guitars. That said, I also find they are some of the best I have for palm mutes and chugs, they have a nice tight sound and not so hot that you're getting residual feedback/noise or need a fret wrap. Got yourself a new sub, though if I had to nitpick one tiny thing - the cracking issues are more specifically with the fretboard, not the neck 😉😏🤘🤘

I think you hit everything right on and I love your comments and feedback. Equally important you are correct I apologize. I do know it’s fret board issues as opposed to the neck and I totally misspoke on that. I do apologize. From a KZitem perspective, I’m new and learning and I am open to all feedback. I want to get get better each time around. Stay well and I hope I can continue to provide you with enjoyable content. Oh and thank you for subscribing. - Larry

@@larrymartins3014 LOL, no worries on the fret vs neck, just friendly nitpicky ribbing from one guitarist to another. And man, I totally get it. I've only been doing this for about 6 months and I'm still an eyelash away from 100 subs. And on videos where I actually open my mouth I usually have to do multiple takes. The camera seems to disrupt the signal from my brain to my mouth. On my Solar review I kept saying "Set neck through". When I edited I kept cringing like "dude, it's either a set neck or it's neck-through, not both".🙄 Keep doing your thing!

Great review! I really liked your riffing at the end 🤘. If you don't mind me asking, what country are you in for that shipping time? Also, wanted to add a little tip. If you add sections to the description with Minute:Seconds it will automatically create links to specific parts of the videos. It helps folks get to the spots they want to see the most quickly (attention spans are short these days lol). Good luck getting to 50 subs! You're already pretty close; I'm sure you'll make it there by March!

@@larrymartins3014 It takes a while to pick up all the tricks 🤓. You can always go back and edit your descriptions to add stuff like that. I've done it oodles of times for that type of thing and tagging. I imagine I'd have similar shipping time; maybe add a day since I'm in the Midwest 🤔

Usually, you’d adjust the levels of each and add at least a little room tone and/or reverb to make it mix better and there’s none of that going on so that’s why it sounds so weird :/

Are there still issues with their ebony fret boards?? The solar guitar I want to grab this summer has an ebony fb and I'm a little worried cause it's pretty pricey.

Hi hope you are well. I certainly cannot say for sure if there are still issues I can only speak from my experience. I can certainly say that my Solar with an ebony fretboard is perfect. I also took the guitar to my tech and he said there were no cracks, separations or issues. The guitar is flawless. I personally think Many of the issues have been resolved. I have had the guitar for two weeks and it ranks right up there with my other two solars that do not have ebony fretboards.

Solar neckthru or Jackson Soloist neckthru?
@larrymartins3014
Жыл бұрын
To me and I have played both. It’s a tie. I find them very similar in playability. I do think the Jackson’s pickups might be a little more versatile. Truth be told along with my solars I would love to own a Jackson soloist. Lastly I and pretty sure the solars have a better price point. Either one is a winner. In my opinion, I certainly don’t speak for everyone.
