This is a detailed video in response to a viewer request; they wanted me to show how the different parts of a solar shed ventilation system are connected together. I will explain the various components of a DIY solar shed ventilation setup and show you how to connect them to your solar panels.

This video covers the most basic setups to more advanced. I have tried a lot of setups and currently have 3 solar fans in 2 sheds.
The easiest, fastest and simplest way to get air moving out of your shed, is to take a 50-75 Watt 12-volt solar panel and connect it to a 10-12 inch 12-volt car radiator fan. You literally connect the positive of the fan to the positive of the solar panel, same for the negative. The sun shines, the fan moves some air. It doesn't get any easier than that.
The second level is to use a DC-DC converter. It simply takes a higher and variable voltage from the solar panel, and regulates it down to a level you set. You can also use a PWM motor speed controller, and or a Golf Cart 12V DC Converter.
With a regulated output, you can use the more sensitive brushless DC server and mining fans for solar shed ventilation. These fans require a regulated supply of up to 12 Volts, and can burn out if the voltage is not regulated.

My favorite brushless DC fan so far for shed ventilation and cooling is the SJ SG121238BS type of fan. It is a server or mining fan vs. normal computer fan. Unfortunately there are many copies and they may all work different. The version I have runs OK as low as 6 Volts and is very smooth, moving lots of air. They are worth a look.

/// Solar panel sizing:
For a 12V 85w car radiator fan, you want a minimum 50 Watt 12 Volt solar panel. Directly connected, it will run around 5-6 volts in direct sun and move some air.
(Adding an adustable DC converter at the right setting can actually make the fan run a little faster.)
A 100 watt solar panel can burn up the car radiator fan in direct sunlight, as it might push 12+ volts continuously. Under this condition, the fan will get extremely hot. Keep the voltage at 10 volts or less to maximize the car radiator fan's lifespan.
For a 12V brushless DC mining or server fan with a small DC converter, as little as a 30 Watt solar panel can be useful. However, the 50 Watt solar panel is a better choice especially since it produces more power in cloudy weather when the shed, chicken coop or outbuilding will still need some air flow.
