Music, Mixing, Mastering: Strawberry Moondae

Lyrics, Tuning, Visuals: silmist (me)
For context, this is the credits song for a game i worked on for the majority of this year! strawberry moondae is one of my fellow devs and did a lot of sound design and music stuff, so we worked together on this one and im super happy with how it turned out, her music stuff is always soo so delicious.
a fun fact for the lyrics, since the melody was more or less a connected chain when strawby gave it to me, i wrote those lyrics to be a really long run-on sentence; i broke the lines obviously when writing it out for the video, but the intent is that you can read it with the line breaks in different places and it'll still work no matter what; it changes the meaning slightly sometimes but overall it's the same vibe. im retconning that to be symbolic of how our game is a roguelike and a different experience every run
i chose solaria for this song, foremost bc at the time of making this she was one of the few vocal synths i owned (ive acquired others since then, both lite and full ones, and ive been hacking away at covers to post for like months they're coming someday i promise i promise). but also because the story of our game has a lot of solar imagery and stuff baked into the lore, as well as robots. so it just turned out kinda perfect
for the art, i tried mashing together the concept for solaria's design into what i think she would look like as one of the robots in the game, and the biggest challenge was changing the proportions to be more realistically humanoid I think. otherwise the shape language is surprisingly similar, with the short dress and stuff.
smallest note, i've downloaded after effects again. ive been using it for other things for a few months now and i think i'm sticking with it for good; i tried recreating some visuals from my moon cover a while back and i was infuriated at how much faster it was to do in ae vs. blender. i cant go back anymore
