Final thoughts start at 12:22. Good video, but took almost 10 minutes to do what the title said it would. First 10 mins of the video was showcasing the car's features like you were trying to sell it.

Hi, I need advice, I am going to be purchasing a 2012 Audi Q5 3.5 Quattro, estimated 56,000 miles. Can anyone let me know any signs/tips to look out for before purchasing. This will be my first foreign car, I am a woman by the way.

There are a list of things you need to check: - ask for the maintenance record - look around the to see any big dent or dings - check the audio system by connect Bluetooth and play music loudly - turn on ac and heated seats - use a penny to check the tires - open the hood and turn on engine to hear any abnormal sound - drive for 15 minutes and check the steering wheel if they are balance The last step is the moat important: take the car to any auto shop or audi service to have a pre-purchase check

Dang you did not take the time to detail or even clean the car before the buyer arrives? That's a bummer.

I had cleaned a couple days prior but for a used vehicle with over 90K miles I think I turned it over in pretty good shape!

LOL no newer Audi will last 200k miles, not sure where you got that from LOL. Once you get to 100k miles it will not worth anything, making any major repair not cost-effective. Transmission $7-10k, turbo $4k, engine $15k and so on. If you want longevity buy a 5th gen 4Runner, no direct injection, no oil consumption, no turbo. It will last over 300k miles with regular maintenance, and the interior will not fall apart like on Audis and Volkswagens. Buy a used one with 100k miles and it will outlast a new Audi with zero miles. Much better for the environment if you care about that. I've owned over 10 Volkswagens, (GTI's, TDI's, the V8 Touareg was the biggest turd ever) 2 Audis and we still have an A5. Although we haven't had an issue with the A5 yet, this will be our last VAG vehicle we will own. They look nice, they are fun to drive when not broken, but owning one is not a smart financial decision just for resale value alone even with the current market values.

If one wanted to install a 30 cm lift kit what size of tires would still fit on the vehicle? I am thinking about slightly larger tires to go from 20 cm ground clearance to 23 cm with the lift and 25 cm with the tires. Would those fit and not rub on turning?

I've seen some of the 2nd Gen Q5s with a lift but not the 1st. Would love to see what it might look like. Good luck with your build!

will you recommend the 2010 Audi q5 3.2 premium plus with 109k on it. do you think will be reliable? or a bmw x3 xdrive28i with the same millage ?
@DrivenCompanion

Depends on what we're comparing to. If you're comparing to a Honda CRV they may not be that reliable but we had a great experience with ours including zero repairs in the time we owned it. They also have really high quality finishes inside that will hold up real well and to me make them cars worth maintaining even if repairs can get pricey.

We don't have the VW Tiguan TDI but I did previously have a Jetta TDI. They are both great so really more a question of whether you'd rather have the VW or Audi. Audi is significantly nicer but costs more. If you can afford it I'd go that route.

For a compact SUV I don't think you'll do much better. Sedans are still the way to go if you want the best handling but the Q5 is pretty good.
