Did this in a Rivian R1T today and it handled like a champ. Few minor scratches due to the road being narrow but nothing you can't buff out. This is the best soldiers pass review I have seen.

It’s really a shame that a camera designed for extreme activities and environments overheats so much. You are not the first KZitemr who I have seen this happen to.
@JonDZ_Adventuring
Жыл бұрын
Yeah, you’re right! GoPros explanation is that the majority of its users only shoot 30second to 5 minute clips. I disagree with this, I feel most people turn it on and do their activity and turn stop recording when their activity has finished. Overheating is common with go pros, but the image quality is some of the best and it’s the reason I continue to use their cameras. Cmon GoPro, please fix the overheating issue 😃

Great informative video. Exactly what I was looking for to see if I'd be able to drive this trail in my stock 2018 Ridgeline. I'm thinking "not".

Yet another great video Jon! Question: did you need to engage your brake-lock at any point on this trail? Thanks!
@JonDZ_Adventuring
Жыл бұрын
Thanks James! Not at all. Actually, I really didn’t even use my brake lock on Broken Arrow, which was much more technical trail (well, If you don’t count the offshoots)

I just ran soldier pass off road trail in my 2017 Jeep renegade Trailhawk. Your video gave me the confidence that I could get through it. It was a bit harder because it had rain last day and a half so rocks were slippery and plenty of mud

What is your MPG now with the lift and tires?
@JonDZ_Adventuring
Жыл бұрын
Tires and roof / front bumper modifications will make the most difference. The faster I go, there will be more disparity compared to stock. I can achieve 22 mpg highway doing 65mph, but if I go 75mph MPGs will drop to 19.

Great video Jon, that is a great way to avoid the full hike especially if it gets really hot. This was our first time watching a youtube on our laptop and it seemed like it made the rocks look more realistic in size as compared to a big screen. Not sure if that is normal so I will check out other videos to see.

My first time I visited Sedona, Arizona I was in my early 20s. My girlfriend at the time, took me here while visiting her Sister. We had a fun day recreating on the natural water slides of "slide rock". For some reason, her Sister had to leave and left us stranded while cold and wet 😪

Can an fully armored belly stock height gx460 complete this? 8” clearance at the skids, 14” at the sliders, 17” at bumpers.
@JonDZ_Adventuring
Жыл бұрын
I would think so. As seen in this video, the main trail isn't very technical. If you stray off the trail seen in this video is where things can get spicy.

How narrow is this trail? Will a power wagon fit?
@JonDZ_Adventuring
29 күн бұрын
@@rpena76 it’s not too bad. You might get pin stripped, but you won’t have issues. Basically, where my Honda goes, a stock power wagon can go. I didn’t take the offshoots, so I have no idea how the rougher section is.

Do you think my Pilot can make that trail?
@JonDZ_Adventuring
Жыл бұрын
Yeah, as long as you have 9” of clearance, should be fine. Just be careful of taking any of the offshoots, might be tough. How much lift do you have? Forgot if it was 2” or 3.5”

@@JonDZ_Adventuring i have a 2” lift with 265/65/17 tires. How much ground clearance do i have now with that setup? Like 10” right?
@JonDZ_Adventuring
Жыл бұрын
@@popeyerubi1981 should be about 10.5” centerline and 14.5” of rocker clearance. Not a bad place to be. I got through a lot of terrain with my 2” lift, and level 3 trails shouldn’t be a problem.
