Even though we get the 105 series (sfa 100 series) and the 100 series in Australia hats off to you for doing this conversion. your now probably past this in your build but the 100 rear diff angles it's upper control arms in where as the 80 and 105 run parallel. Depending which axles you end up using. also the 80 and 105 chassis are just about identical and the 100 series body bolts right onto a 105 or 80 chassis. You could have also put your 100 body and motor onto a 80 chassis depending on the vehicle laws you guys have. Guys over here are lifting their hdj100 bodies and motors and plonking them on 105 chassis. I'm really enjoying the build mate keep at it. ps you also sound like the guy from the older show turnin rust 😄

I'm loving the wheels. I wasn't too sure when I bought them, but it was the only option I could find in my backspacing and lug pattern, but I love them now!

That looks amazing. I'm seriously thinking I should go this route rather than a 2" and cram 315's in and wait for the inevitable broken CV up front...

The only reason I don’t like doing that is that it is radius arm. I prefer the 3 link front and rear

This is awesome to see on a 100 series! I know you mentioned rebuilding the brakes but have you considered doing a front brake upgrade (for both fj/fzj80 front brakes) using a 2010-2013 5th gen 4R calipers/rotors. I know people use the mc and booster from a T100 on 80 series when doing this front brake upgrade but I do not know how these compare to the 100 series mc/booster. Anyways, mock up looks absolutely monstrous.

Why did LR Defender go to fully independent front and rear? [yes i know its a bloody Land Rover] But, not being into four wheel bush bashing and not a FWD owner, I can't for the life of me understand having a big knobbly pimple up front which lowers ground clearance is an advantage, whu can't you just alter the spring rates, I am sure someone will straighten me out.

So... I have three 80 Series and just picked up a 1999 100 Series with the locking center and read diffs. I understand why you want replace the front IFS with a solid axle but why did you take out the rear straight axle? I'm new to the 100 Series world....

@@shaweehillsworkshop4226 Gotcha... So, are you installing 80 Series axles on it? Love your swap by the way. I personally am more of an 80's fan, but they lack the real estate on the roof and the power in the engine.

@@shaweehillsworkshop4226 Not trying to annoying here, but having three FZJ80's that run and one that has a blown engine that is my parts vehicle. If I have a factory locked rear locker on my 100 that is wider than the 80 and only a five lug bolt pattern design, is that bad? From my research, the 105 has the same five lug bolt pattern rear axle. Seems like I should rather import the 105 front axle somehow for it to match.
@shaweehillsworkshop4226

@@ervingritzeriii1360 it is my understanding that the 105 is also 5” narrower and they use different wheel offsets to make up the difference, but I may be wrong. If you are wanting to keep your rear axle you could always get a diamond axle housing for the front
