Thank you for your training lesson. One can get a nice optical intersection appearance between upper rib end and elevated platform, if using lofted protrusion instead of the rib command. However, obviously this will twist the rib slightly along its overall length. I was trained in precision engineering some 45 years ago, but never worked in the field since then. But I doubt, that anyone wants a twisted rib for any production purposes- so yeah, probably not a good idea to consider a lofted protrusion on this part.

Nice lesson. I now understand new set of techniques to complete this model. I like the way you narrate. it helps me follow your work especially when I look away from the screen. Yes, I do get startled by phantom squirrels.

Hello Dr Saif Its really nice connecting with @The Design Engineer videos. It really eases of difficulties and understanding the options in Solid Edge tool. Request also please upload how to draft it on A4/A3 with all views and BOM list preparation as well. I haven't seen any videos of yours which is uploaded. Or already if you have kindly share me the link. Good one keep going Sir.

Thank you for reaching out. To answer your request about the draft sheet drawing, please watch, for example, Lab 3 (kzitem.info/news/bejne/1a-m1Jiko4Kimo4) and Lab 6 (kzitem.info/news/bejne/k4mKqmx5hIybn6g). They were done using the Solid Edge 2020 version. In the future, I will update them using the latest version, 2023. Wishing you all the best.

It is simpler to draw the majority of the part from the side. The 4"x0.315" base, the left rib, the top tilted flange, and the last rib. Then, extrude each in succession. Next 0.315" fillet the eight corners. Follow with each of the 4x0.315" holes in each flange. * Continue with rest of drawing. Object of drawing is to simplify the construction, use least commands, mouse movement, and clicks. Coming from a practical use in industry where inefficiency, inaccuracy, fumbling skills - get one fired.

"Look at Face" command under View Tab. at 14:35 you are struggling to get oriented for a sketch. You should learn the commands for planes. The "Look at Face" command is what you needed for what you were asking to do. To use: Click on the Command. Click on the Face you want to look and the part will orient Normal to that face. So, you will be directly looking at that surface/face.

When you are locked to a surface you can use "Sketch view", shortcut key Ctrl-H (in Windows), to orient to the surface. You can also find this through the "cube" (lower right) - when hovering over the cube, you see an icon that looks like an "eject button" at the lower right of the cube. Press this icon and choose the "Sketch view".

I ran into a issue with trying to place the .650 dimension between the center of 1" circle and the top lip of the angle plate. I will try to beat it into submission with my brain after I take a break! It wants to shrink the .315 edge down to .266. Ah..No...It should adjust but maybe I need to place.650 after I place the 1 inch circle first , then Lock it. YES! that was the Golden ticket!
