I live 90 miles from the ND campus. I've been to 20 plus games at Notre Dame Stadium. I love the Irish and have been a fan my entire life. I love your interest in college football, it's an amazing experience!

Harvard University is the oldest institution of higher learning in the United States. It was established in 1636. ND was founded 181 years ago on November 26, 1842 by the Catholic - Congregation of Holy Cross. It received its official college charter from the Indiana General Assembly 1844. If you ever do a best college fight songs video, Notre Dame is one of the best.

There's gold flakes in the paint used on the helmets. It's from the old gilding on the Dome.

You should check out the videos from last year when Notre Dame played a "Home" game against the US Naval Academy Team in Dublin, Ireland. It was preceded by the Notre Dame Marching Band parading through the streets of the city, and performing a concert in the city center.
