I got Proving Grounds, will need to play it a few times. Was hoping would enjoy as much as have Warps Edge.

I parted with Warps Edge also so perhaps I just don’t resonate with that type of game. But maybe you will enjoy it a lot because of your like for the latter.

Petrichor! I have the collector’s edition with everything. Permanent keeper for me. Too bad about that. You missed out on a great solo mode.

I remember you saying it was one of your favorites. Sometimes area majority just doesn’t do it for me.

I have Petrichor, but I play multi-handed solo - the mechanisms are different than any of my other games. Still planning on trying out the included solo. Pavlov's House has been on/off my "maybe" list for years - but it's a "Tower Defense" game to my mind and I don't enjoy such games.

I officially have a new criterion for triggering the sale of a game: if I have to constantly go back and forth to BGG because of rule ambiguities. I HATE that. It tells me that the rules as written are very very poor. If there is at least one ambiguity that can make or break the game state, forget it. The frustration I feel is enormous, and it’s not worth the aggravation. Better to sell in this case. The latest game to meet this fate was Deliverance. Simply awful.

That can certainly be frustrating and I have a tough time with that too. While I won’t necessarily sell it at the first or second sign of something like that, I did literally sell Tabannusi because of that exact reason. The solo was just too ambiguously frustrating for me.

Pax Transhumanity is made by Phil Eklund's son, Matt, who also did Stationfall. It's nice to hear you like High Frontier, I had no idea! I just recently learned it, so good. I sold Pavlov's House too. Phil Eklund sure makes some weird games, he might as well be from another planet. I've only played Pax Renaissance, Emancipation and High Frontier, but they're all good and very unique.

@@drewbiggin5805 I think there is a ton there as long as you like this type of game. You probably have 50-100 hours in the box easily and that is without breaking a sweat.

@drewbiggin5805 take a stroll through the rules first just to make sure you are up to the task. I recommend that you tackle it when you plan to play it regularly for a while. Otherwise, you will share my fate 😃

I've picked up about 7 games all year. 2 of the 5 here I passed on in, well, the past. Pavlov's, I fell for and have since sold a while back. I feel like table top gaming, as you've hinted, is running circles, re-skinning/rethemeing. Thank you for continuing to churn. I found it exhausting. I've since found great joy in relearning the best games in my current collection. Games like Pax Pamir 2nd Ed., Too Many Bones, Cerebria (a ridiculously under-rated game IMHO), Anachrony and the all-mighty Mage Knight (yes, I know you got rid of this, which I respect, but still can't believe). Great games are VERY few and far between these days, although you wouldn't know it watching most reviews. Thanks for your honesty.

There is lots of chaff out there today. The problem I have is that many mores games now try to distinguish themselves by adding more expensive components, which drives the price north of $100 and sometimes way more. I want a good looking game for sure, but I want substance, not expensive miniatures!

I have not but what I would say is if there is an iOS app for a euro game, I have probably bought it. My favorites are probably Brass, Spirit Island, Gaia Project, Railroad Ink and the Clever games.
