Solo camping in rain. I set off on my first ever backcountry solo canoe trip on a windy fall day in Algonquin Park. Beginning from access 17 (Shall Lake), I paddled straight into a headwind, past the Kitty Lake Cabin and into Booth Lake, before struggling down McCarthy Creek. After a few portages, I reached Godda Lake for my first of two nights. Having spent many nights in the backcountry with others, I felt ready to venture out on my own and see if complete solitude was for me. Having never used a double blade or pack boat before, this trip was full of firsts.
Thank you to Algonquin Outfitters for helping me out with the canoe rental
I'm looking for suggestions on how to properly double blade without getting wet and how to effectively steer the canoe without loosing momentum. Let me know in the comments below. I'm open to new things and trying different ways. If you liked the video, hit that like button. If you didn't hit that dislike.
Thanks for watching! Part two coming soon.
