Heading away on another solo camping trip in the Vic High Country.
On the way i stopped in at Moscow Villa Hut that was built way back in 1942.
I found a really nice spot to setup camp under the snow gums beside a small mountain stream.
With my swag rolled out it was time to relax to the sounds of the bush while enjoying a gin and tonic on the rocks.
Later in the afternoon, the campfire is going and it wasn't long before dinner was being cooked to the amazing smell of garlic on a nice piece of char grilled steak over a bed of hot coals.
In my cast iron frying pan i have potato chips and asparagus spears sizzling away in some oil and a dash of garlic for extra flavour.
The next morning begins with a fresh brew of billy tea, followed by bacon and eggs cooking on the campfire.
You cant beat the flavours of food cooking on the campfire. This is solo camp cooking at it's best, when you only have yourself to think about what you will cook for your meals on the campfire.
I really enjoy solo camping on my own and using a campfire for cooking instead of a gas camping stove, for me this is the only way to go.
