I admire your spirit of adventure, fitness and expertise with the camera in achieving this walk. I did the first section from Alice Springs in my mid 60s over 10 years ago and I’ve driven to the locations so I know how beautiful it really is and the colours are truly magnificent. Well done. Sadly I’ve left it too late to take up the challenge now. 😁

That is how I feel when trekking ... absorb everything that surrounds and see the beauty. Well done Laura, can not believe you are just 23 ... so grounded, very conscious of or surroundings and safety. loved the challenging water crossing ... clever you. thanks for sharing, a delight to travel with you. take care ...

Hi Laura, you really know how to produce great content-absolutely enjoyable and compelling footage. That sure was a tough trail and you seem to take it all in your stride. You must have had some really tough days and moments hiking across so much rock etc. I'm a hiker too and know what it's like to carry a big pack with plenty of water over long tough distances. You are clearly super fit and resilient. Keep up the great work. Kind Regards. Trevor from 'AAWT One Step at A Time' video.

Congratulations on your completion of the East-West Larapinta Trail Laura, and Happy Birthday for that special day on the trail, What a beautiful time for you to visit the Centre, the weather conditions were almost perfect unlike the past week here in Alice has been cold, wet and miserable. Although I've never walked the trail I have visited most camp sites over the past 23 years of living here in Alice Springs. Now that you have the East-West leg under your belt, the next question is whether you will return next year to tackle the West-East as i've been told its a "Very different walk". I thoroughly enjoyed watching this video blog and of course as always your infectious smile. ❤

Congratulations Laura! Very impressive to do this trail in 10 days and carrying all your food for the entire walk, when you could have made use of the food drops! This was a great challenge; you can be proud of yourself 😊! I love how you always look so happy and smile, this makes watching your adventures that much more enjoyable. It was interesting because I will be walking the Larapinta Trail next month and my planned hike duration and campsites are almost identical to what you have done, so I now have a really good idea of what to expect. Out of curiosity, what kind of food did you take with you to be self-sufficient? And do you know the weight of your food, as well as the total weight of your pack at the start of the hike? I hope you enjoy your next adventures, and a happy belated birthday! Cheers

Your Larapinta Trail walk and the ones in WA are so enjoyable because you are so enthusiastic and always smiling! I have been watching Itchy Boots a blog made by a Dutch girl Noraly who has ridden her trail bike through many remote areas in Africa, South and North America and has been doing it for about 8 years since she was a geologist in WA in the goldfield where she earned enough money to travel like this. She earns an income from KZitem and only in the past week has had to stop after injuring her shoulder in Tanzania and is recuperating back at home in The Netherlands. The Larapinta which we visited and only walked 100 metres is according to some one of the hardest trails due to the remoteness, lack of water and food and the risk of getting lost off the trail. When we were there 2 years ago the emergency services were rescuing by helicopter 4-8 people a week, in April!

@tadghsmith1457

@@samnorth01 I disagree. Firstly a highway journey is usually necessary. Hiking into the wilderness isn’t. Secondly and more importantly, if you have an accident or are stranded on the highway you can phone for assistance, or else a passerby will probably stop and help or notify the authorities. In the wilderness, on the other hand, if something goes wrong there will be no phone coverage, and there may be no assistance of any kind until it is too late.

As someone from New Zealand how do you just learn to ignore that there could be snakes anywhere you put your feet or sit down? I would love to do some hiking in Australia but all of my hiking has been in New Zealand where I never have to worry about wildlife. I feel like I just wouldn't be able to relax in Australia when something could kill me at any moment haha. it looks so beautiful though.
