Gil and CP were hacked in to max Lightning out, making this experimental battle possible (without the need for ridiculous amounts of grinding to achieve this normally). The rest of the party members are at NCU.

While Barty himself isn't all that dangerous damage-wise, the various Status Ailments he inflicts is. Since Lightning's going solo in this, getting afflicted too frequently would be especially deadly. From most to least dangerous, we're dealing with:
- Curse: If this lands, every laser Barty shoots out will interrupt Lightning, keeping her stunned. When this happens, switch to Sentinel to reduce/dodge laser damage while you're busy tossing Holy Water. Hexbane helps resist Curse.
- Daze: This one can really ruin battle momentum. Luckily, a single laser hit will dispel the effect, so it's not really worth tossing Foul Liquid for. Instead, switch to whatever Paradigm needed then wait 'til Lightning gets hit. Moonbow helps resist Daze.
- Fog: Half of the lasers that Barty shoots has a 1% chance to cause Fog. Instead of using an Effulgent Cape for this, I opted for a Super Ribbon (Resist All Ailments +30%) since it can cover Fog resist enough, while boosting resistance to Curse and Daze as well.
- Pain: The other half of Barty’s lasers have a 1% chance to cause Pain. Not as game ruining as Fog, but you'll still want to dispel this to use Elude against Thanatosian Laughter. Just toss a Painkiller when the chance arises.
- Poison: This doesn't keep Lightning from acting, so this's the lowest priority debuff. No need to toss an Antidote since Lightning can just heal herself when needed and the debuff will eventually fade.

Getting a Super Ribbon was easy with all the Gil in Cocoon. Just transform an Entite Ring into a Goddess's favor, then max and disassemble it to get a Ribbon, and transform that into a Super Ribbon.

- Dodging the first Apoptosis with Elude (2:47) is key to keeping the buffs for a little while longer. It is possible to dodge a second Apoptosis, but by then the buffs will be a few seconds from running out, so it isn't really worth it. After each Apoptosis cast, there's a small window before Barty starts shooting out lasers again which is perfect for reapplying Protect, Shell and Faith.
- Lightning can laugh back at Thanatosian Laughter with Elude. When Barty starts casting it, you have just enough time to switch into Sentinel and activate Elude. I set up an Elude string early on (0:38) before the battle got too heated because if using Auto-Battle, the AI will try to Provoke before using any guard stance.
- Staggering Barty isn't all that efficient in the long run. It's better to get a reliable 10k-15k from each Ruin with Faith, Deshell, and a reasonably high Chain. The first Stagger (1:54) was timed to get Barty down to 50% HP and revealing is face, while the second Stagger (8:14) was timed to push the battle home.
- Using Renew and Summon is not allowed since it'll revive Sazh and Hope. Instead, TP points would be of most use for Quake. Whenever there's too much support stuff to do (healing, buffing, curing ailments, etc) that there's no time to stabilize the Chain Guage with a Ruin or Debuff, casting Quake is best to give a bit more leeway.
